I am an avid distiller myself, and nothing was more relaxing then watching this traditional method of making apple brandy. What a great vlog! Thank you

Wow, such lovely true film, with all the grit and honesty. We are losing these old arts. It is a treasure to see this, but I do hope GRANDMA is happy (damn what I'd give for 5 minutes of her time). It's a lot of hard work She looks happy with her cat and I hope the people she makes the booze for appreciate it. She probably makes their dinner too... I don't have a you tube account but commenting only on my wife's account as a husband. I have made my own beer and spirits for the family for 20 years in Australia and it's hard enough making your own supply with modern methods. I hope to see Romania one day, all the best GRANDMA. Buna Zuia!

Outstanding!!! This is truly an amazing video! I know a lil bout makin likker. But that is REAL Old School Science right there!! I would kill for a jar of that brandy. Those lil sour apples....we call them crab apples make the best brandy around here but doing it her way is simply an art! And an art she is good at btw

@ARCSTREAMS2 ай бұрын
so she just let the apples ferment whole like that by wild yeast? really stuffed that pot to the hilt, but why not feed the animals the left over cast? beautiful end result but why some of the bottles have cloudy looking alcohol?

How does it taste? Sweet or tart? Is it used as a mix for other drinks? Was she measuring the temperature or something else? So many questions!
@rawmaniacountrylifevlogs2 жыл бұрын
Hello Anne :) Thank you for your questions. Because it has no added sugar, Tuica is nothing close to sweet o tart. You can think of Tuica as a Vodka made from fruits, in this case apples. In most cases, only a shot-sized amount is served, and it is generally sipped. Grandma was measuring the temperature because she distilled twice. I hope this answers are helping you. :)

Was she measuring temperature or the proof? Looks like an alcohol hydrometer the way she let it float.

De ce pune merele în saci de rafie?
@UgTheViking14 ай бұрын
similar to brew bags. You don't want solids touching the bottom of the still (scorching) so the bags keep solids in suspension. She had a roster in the bottom too.
