This is a nice find, I like hearing different age group opinion on things, and getting to watch shows with your family is so much fun. My own family won't come near it lol. I've been watching anime since the early 90's, there has been a lot that has changed about it. Things you might like or dislike can change drastically with each genre too. At first, Chainsaw Man was hard for me to swallow and not something I thought I'd like. It has the grossest scene I've ever witnessed in an anime and is very mature. I was surprised how much I loved it, but I do like horror genre too. Power helps carry this show a long way for me, though, I do look forward to seeing future seasons. If you want go down a bit of a rabbit hole, there are plenty of shows people will recommend over and over. Personally, I would recommend some of the older series that maybe don't get covered as often? Evangelion, for example, was an inspiration for a lot of modern anime such as AoT. Bleach has great characters and an interesting main story arc, is at least made in 2000's lol for something newer. =) This was fun to watch, I'm glad to see some more and hear your opinions on them.

Evangelion is on the list, along with Stein's Gate! We gave Bleach a bit of a test run and she didn't like it at all - in general the battle shonen without a focus on character dev are going to be a no go

@@GRANIME Yeah, to each their own, right? I am partial to magical girl series, which most people hate. Ichigo (Bleach) gets pretty good development, but it's slow going and there's a lot of focus on the entire cast as a whole. It's the only series I know with an entire season of filler, so people usually love or hate it. Trying to think of something with great animation, great characters, and a great story is a tricky thing, plus something people aren't probably already recommending a dozen times over. You guys already have a pretty good list you've gone through, and my other big recommendation would have been My Hero, which I saw you started (hopefully continue?). I haven't watched a lot of recent shows, maybe I'll pick up One Piece to watch along. It's so long, I never bothered. If you guys are just curious what else is out there, not necessarily to react to, these are some of my favorites: Romance/comedy, I would recommend Lovely Complex, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, or Kimi no Todoke. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge and Ouran High School Host Club if you fairly know Japanese culture/humor. Fantasy Theme ~ Slayers or Scrapped Princess Pretty but makes you want to cry... Angel Beats, Scryed (there's a lot in this category I don't know because I don't like sad shows) Unique animation style and darker theme - Soul Eater A magical girl series other people actually watched because it was dark: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Action/fighting - Kill la Kill Anime I couldn't tell you why I liked so much but I did: Chihayafuru Yakitate! Japan Both are competition themed, one around poetry, and one around bread. Obviously some of these won't be to your taste but hopefully you might like a couple you've never heard of.

As ridiculous as it is for a show called Chainsaw Man, this is probably one of the series I'd most want to see a grandma reacting to. Not because of the violence of course, but because of how emotionally mature it is, same thing would apply to Berserk to a certain extent, but I feel like having more life experience is particularly valuable for analyzing Chainsaw Man's story since it's a lot more grounded than most.
