My grandpa used to make them, some with more "columns" and some with bevels instead of square cuts, only he whittled them out with his pocket knife. The inspiration was the same as Grandpa Amu, though: Love of crafting and love of grand kids. Grandpas are the same the world over, I'm happy to see. Bless you, Grandpa Amu.

Finally found it. I was looking for this thing that a recent video game "Genshin Impact" use this as God's ultimate skill. The god basically drop a huge meteor in a shape of luban lock. His name is Zhong Li. Thank you very much for showing the video. I feel kinda respect this cultural piece and very interested about how it works. Я хоть и застал самый конец но старых учителей труда и станки на уроке труда я застал, ты может даже и не знал что на уроке труда были столярные станки, токарные станки, сверлильные станки, столярный инструмент всякого рода и ещё много чего.
