@@tebogomotsamai3501 Hi Tebogo, The tent bag in the video comes with the tent when you purchase it. I think Outdoor Warehouse also sell a brand of bag called Camp Cover. Might also be worth checking out their website www.campcover.co.za to see if anything suits your needs (no affiliation to them, we have just used some of their covers for other stuff).

Hi Raymond, thanks very much. How long are you going camping for? Also, you may want to check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fabGZ5J5qbStpZI It’s a fairly long video but covers a lot of info. Hope it helps (campaign for three and a half weeks in a dome tent)

@@GrantBurton That was the first video I watched on your channel. Loved it!! I also have one of those blow up mattress stretcher things. I watched your video how you made it a queen size bed. Fantastic idea. Only camping for 4 nights, but really looking forward to it.
@GrantBurton2 жыл бұрын
@@MrStingraygus Awesome, you must have a good one. It's only a double size bed but still big though. Just had a new mattress made of memory foam so will give that a go. I say 'made' but it's just the foam at the moment (75mm 16 weight and 25mm 12 weight)... haven't decided on a covering for it yet. Thinking of going with a more stretchable cotton or something similar... thick rip stop doesn't stretch much so makes bed very firm. Have you seen these kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYq4e5hsfLelY9U (shameless plug 😂 haha) Do you also have a Campmor tent or is it Tentco?

I suggest you use your poles as a guide for the length of the actual tent. Fold the tent the same length as the poles. Then place the poles and roll the tent with the poles inside. This will help push the air out too.
@GrantBurton Жыл бұрын
Hi Noel, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure thats a good idea with this type of tent (or any type of tent for that matter). I think its always best to store the poles in a separate bag, then with the smaller nylon type tents, possibly put the 'poles bag' into the same bag as the tent. With this type of canvass tent, the poles are stored separately from the canvass and shouldn't be wrapped up in the canvass because of the type and design of steel poles this tent uses. On long and bumpy trips, the sharp corners and pointy bits on each pole can end up chafing holes in the canvass over time. Always best to pack stiff / hard / sharp objects away from softer canvass / tarps / etc.

Do you have a video on how to fold and fit the dome and combo extension into its bag..... Its a mission to fit
@GrantBurton4 ай бұрын
Hi, I don’t but I have been meaning to make a video about that… hopefully soon.
@TimBee1003 ай бұрын
Best way to fold a tent is to look at the fold creases from it's original folding. Not all tents are folded in quarters. I will try the way you did the general folding to make it lie flat. That looked interesting if it works for my tent.
@GrantBurton2 ай бұрын
Or possibly take note of the way its folded when its taken out the packaging for the first time (if a person buys it new). Generally, for these dome tents with 4 sides, this method seems to work well. The kitchen / veranda area that clips onto the front of this is a different story... little more tricky to fold flat but manageable (I still need to make a video about folding up that section).

I would prefir a bag twice the size
@GrantBurton Жыл бұрын
Hi Malcolm, on some occasions a larger bag might be easier (like for a weekend away where not much stuff is going with) but most of the time, packing space is at a premium so folding the tent as small as possible is beneficial. Thanks for the comment.
@janickwyngaard75112 ай бұрын
This doesn’t work for a 6 man tent, the bag is longer so when I fold like the there’s space on the sides of the bag and I can’t close the top. Help!!!
@GrantBurton2 ай бұрын
Is it a 6 man dome tent? What about folding it flat and then folding it over in thirds instead of quarters?
@markh66768 күн бұрын
Where possible let the sun soften the tent before folding.

The idiot in me.... I get a bigger bag.... usually a side entry army balsak 😅😅😅😅 Wanna know how to fold up a 5x5 army tent ? There's a neat trick that I learnt courtesy of Maggie Malan back in 7SAI 1974... Flip the tent over before you make the last fold....seriously, you get the whole roof into 3 ammobox bag 😅
@GrantBurton8 ай бұрын
I suppose a bigger bag would be easier (probably for most people) but for us, packing space is a concern so we have to fold it up as small as possible. Add to that is another kitchen and veranda tent that also needs to be folded and stored... I still need to make a video on how to fold that up. Thanks for the tip on flipping and folding, I'm sure some people might find that useful, especially for larger tents.
