Why did you tie the shorter wing material (used for legs I think) only on one side . Would you want this on both sides. Am I missing something here?

There are legs on both sides. I tied in the legs with one feather and rotated them to get them to splay. I added a few more fibers to get them even after they splayed out.

Killer pattern! Can you explain the reason you leave the thread at the tie in point prior to wrapping the ostrich? Thanks Juan!

The thread acts like an anchor as when I leave it there at the tie in point, it helps "hold" the wrapping materials from slipping down a slope or it helps hold a material tighter to its self as in this video.

Juan, Have you tried using the green Slim Rib for this pattern or is it the wrong shade of green? Does the clear slim rib work with a tan underbody?

The Slim Rib works but isn't necessarily the right choice for me. It's a little small for this pattern. I prefer the larger sized micro and midge tubing.
