@@twsdlbh it’s got a little bit of weight, but not especially heavy compared to some others

Great take on a soft hackle. 👏 My personal best Brown took a # 12 Ruffed Grouse and Orange, Hare's Ear thorax, orange thread body. It made 3 reel sreaming runs before my wife netted it for me. Lots of good memories on that creek. Thanks Juan, awesome tie!

That cool, great looking parachute. I've used Flexament a lot for feather slips. But my parachutes suck 😅 the post tilts forward with calf hair. I'll have to try synthetics. Thanks
@martinhodell84655 ай бұрын
right on. the synthetics are easier to work with- they compress down nicely
@HopperJuan5 ай бұрын
Yeah, give the synthetics a try. Calf body looks better but is hard to work with.

I’ve got to practice these parachute posts! 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for sharing. Never heard of this “Flexament”. When I look it up, I get that it is something typically used for tire lettering?

Google it under Umpqua flexament and you will find it under that name. Or Dave’s flexament.

That's one beautiful emerger! Love the mix of natural and synthetics. I sort of recognized the originators name associated with ape. So I looked it up, wow! I've seen some videos of Larry. Then I read his obituary. You seem to have tied that fly with reverence❤ Thanks Juan, all the best to you.
@HopperJuan6 ай бұрын
Thanks. Here’s something that I did. I tied most of that fly with his materials that I obtained after his passing. I wanted to keep his passion alive and this is a way to do that. I want people to continue using his creative fly patterns.
