this is great, how do you edit it once you create a droplet? I want to change the actions inside the droplet file
@GDHT25 күн бұрын
I don't think you can. You should still have the actions somewhere on your system though, so you can edit those, then make a new droplet.

Hey Anne i seriously need help 😞 I have created a droplet dragged all my png files onto it and Photoshop starts to work and go through each files, However the destination folder i selected to put these files into is empty after approx 10 minutes of going through everything. Why isn't Photoshop saving these PSDs into the folder? 😞 Would love your help. I'm Using PS 2021.
@GDHT3 жыл бұрын
It might be overwriting the originals - just make sure all the settings are correct and that it's doing exactly what you want.
@DeanoEssex3 жыл бұрын
@@GDHT Thanks for your answer. Is there a limit to how many files it will process when i drag the folder onto the droplet? If i try to process more than 50 the destination folder will remain empty however if i drag around 40 frame images onto the droplet it will work. It seems a bit pointless if i am only allowed to process a certain amount of files at one time.
@GDHT3 жыл бұрын
That is really odd, but maybe there's a limit with it. I've never run into that.
@lizzieclark98482 жыл бұрын
Very clear explanation. Thanks! I can't tell from the video, do the files you drag onto the Droplet close automatically? I'm having issues getting an Action/Droplet combo that will close the files (without saving) at the end of the sequence. TIA!
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it closes them. I believe you need to record that in the action first, then the droplet will 'obey' it.

When recording the Photoshop action, just close the file at the end, and make sure it records that (you can see what it records in the actions window).

It's all coming back to me how actions don't exactly preform some of the more intricate details of a script in the way you might intended i.e..I open a dozen files in photoshop automatically from LR export to droplet. Tell it load files into a stack, All open Files. It keeps hoping to the script before all files are open..What I'm trying to do is hit export in LR and have them show up as a completed GIF in a folder of my choosing..(I don't "Open as layers in photoshop" from LR) due to wanting to resize images to a more manageable size given I might have three or four dozen images I'm wanting to process at times. Any input would be appreciated! DC

I do find that I have to manually do some steps with my actions, depending on what I want done. I'm sure there are ways to get it done, but I sometimes just take the path of least resistance. :D

Hello! Can I ask how do you make the drag the picture in droplet and the photoshop run in the background? Mine is opening the photoshop which is ruining the purpose of droplet automation
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've noticed this before. I usually wait until a lunch break, etc, then let it run.
@Suprwest2 жыл бұрын
This set of instructions doesn't work for me. I have an action set up, but when I drag images onto the droplet I get a "Save As" prompt in Photoshop. That dialog is not part of my action, so it defeats the purpose of automating a bunch of images if every time it's asking me to save the image. Clicking the "Override Action Save As Commands" didn't have any effect either. I'm also on a PC, so maybe there's a certain step I need to change/alter in order to make this work? Any suggestions?
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
I've run into this many times! I usually either add a Save into the action, or try to find another way of doing the same thing. I wish I could see your action and how it should work - that might help.

for me photoshop was not smart enough to save the file in the folder I chose when creating the droplet. I had explicitly include the save for web (bz export as didn't get recorded [adobe things]) in the action to make it work.
@GDHT Жыл бұрын
Actions and droplets can be a bit finicky. Some things you do won't record. But I've never had the issue of it not saving in the folder you want - make sure you set that up in the droplet, not the action.

Hi Anne - Do you know if it's possible to add a suffix when using Save for web (Legacy)? I see fields to add it in the "Edit Output Settings" window, but I can't get it to work. Thanks.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Yes - I just tested this. You only have a few options for suffixes, though. I was able to add the suffix in the Create Droplet window, on the right side.
@artkiko44602 жыл бұрын
@@GDHT Thanks for replying. Yes, I can do that as well but for some reason the droplet generates a .png, even though the action contains an export (legacy) as .jpg. It's so odd. I can't figure out why it's doing that.
@GDHT2 жыл бұрын
Ok I noticed that too! It may be because it's a legacy (outdated) operation. I would just do Export As instead.

Mh, it doesn't really work for me, and I dont really understand why... If I leave the 'Override Save as Action" unticked - i have to manually click in order to save my Picture that was edited by the Script - and it works. If I click on it to automatically save it - it opens the file, does something, closes it, but doesn't save it in the location ( or at all) that i told him to :(
