Khan Academy videos feel long winded and off base to me. I keep coming back to this channel because there is an excellent association to the actual mathematics rules and principles being directly applied to the unique material!

I started making videos to help one of my students who was going to miss some class time....& now 422 videos later, I do these videos to continue to help more of the thousands of supportive viewers who have sent me comments thanking me for "making a difference". I love teaching & the reach that KZbin has opened up for me is extremely rewarding. It let's me share my passion for teaching math with the rest of the world...there is a some monetizing from the ads but I do it because I love it!

Professor RobBob ,thank you for another basic method of graphing Parabolas in Standard Form. Yipppeee...welcome back:) My lessons are currently organized on my channel page by subject and the order that they were taught in book & class. I tried to start working on a website during spring break but there just weren't enough days off!...it is on the toP of my list between teaching full time, grading papers and then teaching to the camera and producing new videos for my channel...but it is on the "list" of the next big thing to do! Thanks for the input:D

Your videos are amazing. I'm an 8th grader taking geometry and even though I haven't taken algebra 2 yet, your concept and teaching of parabolas makes it so easy to learn. Its great how energetic you are and especially how you "jump in" to teaching. BAM!!!!

Unless you are graphing y=x^2, your parabola has some type of translation. Y=2x^2 has a vertical stretch of two...if a parabola has a vertex of (-2,1) there is a horizontal shift of 2 left and a vertical shift of 1.

You are the best! You teach the same as my math teacher, it's so hard to find videos with as much detail that you give in your videos. You also work out some of the harder problems that many people just skip over.

Most problems I have seen give you the vertex (h,k) and any other point the parabola passes through is a generic (x,y). You plug in those two points and solve for a, and then write out your final equation leaving in the x and y variables.

I had to pause this video to write this: *Rant I wanted to say that you are like the first math teacher I've met (on the internet I guess, well I am Generation X so...) that wasn't pretentious. You're funny but in a geeky cool way and I can tell you are actually enthusiastic about teaching and learning. Of course I've had teachers who say that they will be evolutionary and say that they WILL be understanding, and WON'T be condescending. But then they are. Yes, we know you get it, you understand it. There is nothing we can do about it if we don't know it, if we just don't understand it, if we didn't learn it last year, so, how about instead of harping on something we can't change, thus stressing out an already stressed out high schooler, we instead focus on learning right now. lol Sorry, not sorry. I had to rant. I'm sitting here, trying to do my homework. Barely knowing anything from an hour and a half long math class. I wanted to say thank you in advance.
