Jorge Fonseca - Portuguese Berserker (Power Judo)

Jorege Fonseca is first ever World Judo champion from Portugal. He competes in under 100 Kg weight category. Fonseca's style can be characterized by one word - power, he might not have the most efficient style, but it is for sure very effective. Once he gets your sleeves you're most likely going for a flight.

Amazing. It's like sometimes you may know what he's gonna do but it doesn't matter because he will push through all the way and still get you down regardless. Love it. If I ever become a judoka this is the kind of style I would like to learn and train for. Like including some strength weight training to compliment your judo.

That's not something you can train. He is just a real thrower with tons of strength and power, with that instinct. It's like if you wanted to become a one-touch inside the box striker playing football or a dribbler like Messi. You just can't decide what your qualities gonna be. Indeed, judo is about throwing and beating lacking of that power

@@jaimefernandezestevez117 Lol but it is something you can train. Power comes from muscle short fibers for strength. That's the reason he himself is doing power training. Power lift training stimulates your strength muscle fibers.

What he appears to lack in flexibility, he makes up for in determination and leveraging his size advantage. Impressive and unusual display of Judo, which really focuses on force meeting force and coming out on top.

Hi. I am curious about his height. He is only 5′ 9″ but his weight is 100kg. Why most of his opponent are not apparently taller than he? Kōsei INOUE is also a 100kg judoka and he is 6′ 0″. I notice most of INOUE's opponents are as tall as INOUE and some of them even taller than INOUE. But INOUE and Fonseca fight in the same weight. So, do judokas in the world became shorter and shorter by these years?

Ordinary man with weight of 100kg should has a height of taller than 6′ 0″. So Fonseca is much shorter than most of 100kg ordinary men in the world. But why most of his opponent is not apparently taller than him?
