@@CappnRock I absolutely L:OVE the Lakeland, FL 1977 version on Dick's Picks 29 (I think its on that one). Was working a bar w. a Dead cover band and they played 12 songs or so and I didn't recognize 2 of them so I asked for their set list. Looked them up and this was the song. Its been my favorite song ever since and now I play it on every juke I see if I can LOL Esp love that its an old standard that no one knows who wrote it.

Ha ha ha. Bringing back a LOT of memories. My eyes wouldn't be good enough to pick up a MIDI connector, even from the front row. Does that go to a transmitter box on his hip (did it, I mean)? (Formerly known as the Warlocks..... there are 3 people (left alive) on the East Coast who ever saw them as the Warlocks......although there's a band called the Warlocks now that you could catch....) Catch "The Perro Sessions" with the Cros and others -- that's some cool shit! Great set, BTW. Thanks for posting it. It brings me right back, for some reason the video on KZbin make a huge difference on my nostalgia. I remember the guys sitting behind me at Hampton had a a 3 foot long mirror sitting across 2 peoples' legs. They called themselves "The Toast".

Best looking and sounding of the Irwin axes. Don't know why he stopped playing it(although I still love the tone from the Bean).

Walking home from work tonight through harvard square. Close to midnight. Lots of people (squares/nerds...no offense) out and about. And a busker had a one-man PA set up and I only caught a passing glance at what he was playing and I was like "I know this song" and was whistling it and before I made it home I was whistling it and than BAM! Jack-A-Roe! I hope he shows up again and I can give him 2 bucks.

At first I was like "Hmm...what Pixies deep cut was that..." trying to place it. Solo acoustic, you understand. When it hit me 20 minutes later I smiled.

Anyone who was there, what is up with the crowd explosion at 0:40? Jer even seems to be taken aback at it. Did something happen or was it just one of those bizarre Dead moments where everyone felt something really intense at the same time? Group mind blowing off steam....This is a GREAT version, btw

It is an old English/ european ballad. I think it has several names/versions. Petite Jean, maybe. I am sure there will be more responses and negative statements.

@MrSharkey1114 жыл бұрын
Whoever was in control of the soundboard turned down Garcia's guitar or else it's the recording. If the former than so much for political correctness!
