"Joining the Grateful Dead's repertoire in 1972, Looks Like Rain was a standout track from Bob's 1972 solo record Ace. This performance is one of the many highlights from the Dead's Egypt shows in 1978, and highlights Donna's magnificent contributions to the Grateful Dead's sound." -David Lemieux

I agree 100% percent. In my opinion, I think the Dead should have just retired that song when the Godchauxs' left in 1979, because they never really captured that same magic ever again on that song without Donna...😔

I was fortunate enough to catch "the Rain" two or three times. It was always an experience of sublime passion and joy. We all felt blessed to have gotten it, sanctified as it were, as if by some Holy Ghost that followed the Dead around. Such beauty seemed ethereal and supernatural, something too good to be taken for granted, like something from another world. RIP
