Jerry’s face and little dance he does when Brent comes in on the second verse. So priceless!❤️💀

Brent was the big boys. Gah damn i miss those guys, brent was a special type of guy. First year with the band and on go to heaven he had two songs of his on that album. Stepping up to bat in the same league where Barlow and Hunter were pouring out their hearts and their poetry was a ballsy and powerful move from Brent and he made it work in a huge way. That first album and year of his in the band, it cemented his place for me roght then and there. It only got bwtter and better through the years, he was literally opening up and blossoming in his final years. Fuck its such a tragedy he had to leave when he did. The band never came back from his departure

Keith was pretty amazing from when he joined and into 74/75. By 76-77 I still liked his playing but 78 isn't often on my playlists. Brent was well rounded on anything with keys it seemed AND he could sing. Vince had a better vocal range and he filled the bench and was a very nice guy but when stepping into Brent's shoes....sort of like anyone trying to replace the real or imagined Jerry playing, singing, delivery, the grin he'd get with onstage, what he'd see in the closer audience seats, or what we'd see of his personal life at good times. Love these videos and music.

Technically my first show was in '72 in Veneta at the country fair. I was 9 so I don't remember anything except for trying to catch up with my German mother who was fascinated with the scene and loved it! I was there for the '82 show. A myth behind the story, - Lucy Ricardo from I love Lucy used to hear her husband Ricky Ricardo sing this song to her prior to the first interracial couple being publicized on national TV! And I recently wrote a new song called family tree where Adam says to Eve, eat that Apple baby if you please! So the women have been smarter than us man for a long time according to a reworking of an old story. Thanks Bobby and Dead for that insight, one of my favorite unrecorded on an album Grateful Dead songs! Thanks Sir David and Dead Family!
