For me this is one of the most underrated shows of the 90s. Granted I am biased here as I had the fortune of attending but this monster was THE show of the run hands down. It is probably start to finish the last truly great Dead show I attended. Two things stand out from this run Jerry's penchant to work his new Digitech Whammy pedal which I loved as it was like having him play slide in parts. The other thing was Phil and how loud he was in the mix almost every night of this final NYE run. Here no exception either right from the gate Phil is in your face in a good way, listen to him in Peggy-O (Phili-O) and destroying Minglewood, a song that I am not even that big a fan of. The Playin - > Jam -> Same Thing -> Phil Jam is the stuff of Dead of old, where a jam is not just a jam for the sake of a jam but actually goes somewhere. The band really seems to give a shit here, check Jerry gettin' into it in the Same Thing solo. A special evening and beautifully captured and presented here. Thank you Kevin for sharing this gem and all the excellent work you do for the community!

I attended this show real up close to the stage in the Phil Zone thanks to some good tickets. I could literally see arrows flying off of Phil's bass into Bobby's guitar. Jerry looked like the Kuala bear with a sharp axe stage right, ready to chop firewood for the wood stove to keep warm. A well played show overall from my experience up front. BGP security was kind that way to the audience as to create a kind and friendly concert experience. One for the charts for sure.

I was at this show! It was the night of the most mind-expanding trip of my life, so excuse my bias. I will say that I experienced a sense of universal harmony during Peggy-O and I think it had something to do with Phil's bass.
