Another video mashup I made a few years ago. A live Rosemary from Bellarmine College on 1968-12-07 after the video.

Such a great tune. Wish they had put this into the rotation when they decided to resurrect tunes such as Attics of my Life and Here Comes Sunshine. A few more Rosemary's and a few less China Doll's and Ship of Fools would have been a win for me!!!

I can't understand why the live version of this song in the second half of this video isn't 1000 times more popular. It's one of the purest and most emotional recordings of jerry I've ever heard. The guitar part in the outro at 4:48 has some of the sweetest notes i've ever heard on any guitar. This is such a meaningful performance to me.

I agree. I think a lot of the tunes from Aoxomoxoa are overlooked. Phil Lesh has brought those songs back into the live performances from time to time. I recommend you look up some live performances of Rosemary by Furthur. One version included a violin. This live recording above is the only known live version that the Dead ever performed. 12/7/68. It was listed at the time as "Unknown song". It didn`t even have a name yet.

On the way back West from playing The Spectrum in Philadelphia the Grateful Dead stopped in Louisville, KY #OTD in 1968 to play at Bellarmine University, where "Rosemary" was played live for the first and only time.

Could have done this for the Radio City/Warfield run in 1980. Maybe just a little less vocal reverb and it could have been quite a moment.
