The reason for the unthreaded water faucets is to prevent backflow into the public water supply in places that are subject to freezing temperatures and can’t use an inline backflow preventer. Using the Water Bandit defeats the “air gap” and potentially exposes the public to bacterial contamination that can spread throughout a water system. As a former park ranger, I routinely confiscated Water Bandits, especially when people were using them for an unauthorized water hookup and denying others access to the water system.
@GratefulGlamper3 ай бұрын
The water bandit isn’t meant to be used “permanently” but on an “as needed” basis for filling only.

The non-adjustable regulator is really just a flow restrictor, so it drops the pressure when when there is flow, but lets it rise to full value when flow is off. To put it another way, it restricts pressure when you are washing dishes, but when you shut off the faucet, your rig's plumbing is exposed to full, possibly dangerous, pressure. This is really only useful if you use it to fill your fresh tank, not for use on city water. Ask me how I know....
@jakefriesenjakeАй бұрын

a regular a/c removes about 10 gallons of water a day. A gas heater burns up your moisture in the air, and cooler temperatures contract moisture and i can see your concern to some degree. With the regulator I couldn't get enough pressure to even take a shower so we just took it off and that solved the problem. Electricity does not act differently from the house or a RV. It is about design, and there is a reason for a fuse to blow and without electrical background knowledge, this is not for you to attempt. It is not the rv, it is the design of the electrical system, meaning that an electrician will determine if it can be fixed or you just can'f run it. There is nothing that cannot be fix in this scenario, but that is up to you and the choices that are given to you. DYI and no knowledge and fire will be your outcome, so just be safe with your decisions. For example, i am a x-HVAC and x-electrician from working as a career in that industry and with my trailer, i am designing and rewiring my entire trailer and i will be able to run everything includuing oven, stove, a/c and dryer. i am very busy when working from home, and i need to be on the go and no time to be cautious about the power i use. meaning that if i did not have this skill set than i would be paying an electrician company to redesign and rewire my rv. Electricity works the same in your rv as if does in your house, but there is laws of electricity that needs to be understood and just the other day watching a rv video, this person gave out information that was unsafe and he was dead wrong and had no idea about electricity and everyone was praising this video and i had to engage and beg the viewers to not listen to what he was saying. Electrical work when done in certain ways will kill you or burn your family alive. And constantly having a blown fuse is an indication it is time to hire an electrician, and not a RV mechanic, i am serious.
@KielMartinCisco12 күн бұрын
if i dont have the time, then a electrician is who i will call cause i have a common reference of their knowledge. We don't know what we don't know and do not play with physics just to save a dollar because when you are dead, it all doesn't matter in the first place
