Jerry Reed I believe will always be remembered as the Snowman by anyone who ever saw Smokey and the Bandit. That could be the only movie I've ever seen where every actor/actress fell into place in their respective roles and just worked well together. I imagine it was a pleasure to work alongside Mr Reed.

I got to have dinner with Jerry Reed in mid to late 1980's in Montana @ a motel restaurant. Was just a chance encounter, he invited me to sit with him @ his table. He had done a local show earlier in the night, was by himself. I think he just wanted some company as he had been on road & away from home. Was a fun 45 minutes or so, enjoyed visiting with him. Gave me a lifetime memory.

Of what I've heard since 2021, Jerry is, by far, my favorite. So much more to hear. Maybe I'm lucky to be 43 and just now hearing some of these old songs for the 1st time. Thanks for the info!

My personal story meeting Jerry Reed: I grew up in North Alabama, and in the summer of 1981 my parents wanted to take my brother and I on a weekend vacation getaway before school started later that fall. Our parents decided to take our family to Nashville that summer to visit the Andrew Jackson home at the Hermitage, and we stayed at a Holiday Inn near The 100 Oaks Mall just south of Nashville. I remember when our family checked into our hotel that Friday evening hearing a band playing inside the bar at the hotel. I recognized immediately the songs as those sung by Jerry Reed, and as a 14 year old kid was amazed to be seeing and listening to someone that was a musician and movie star that everyone recognized in that era. I went back to my room to retrieve a pen and piece of paper in hopes I could get Mr. Reed's autograph and waited patiently in the hallway outside the bar area hoping to get an opportunity to shake his hand and ask for his autograph. Several minutes went by before the band took a break....and I see Mr. Reed walk out into the hallway and I meekly said... "Mr. Reed could I get your autograph ".......and the next thing I hear is a torrent of cussing directed towards me for bothering him to ask for his autograph..It was frightening for me because I wasn't expecting him to get in my face and cuss me. I meekly and quietly started walking away....and then Mr. Reed I think then realized he was over the top in his reaction....and then yells at me to come back. I walk back up to him like a scared animal not knowing what he was going to say or do....and then he literally grads the pen and paper from my hands and signs his autograph....and then shoves it back to my chest...and then says "here it is"....and walks away. I set here today as a 57 year old man reflecting back on this memory of meeting what I thought at that time was one of the great musician and movie stars of the era, to only find a hateful individual whom I lost all respect for... I learned at an early age from this experience and many others...to treat people with kindness, decency and respect which is something that many of us who grew up in a good home remember well. The Golden Rule.

My late Pa (grandpa on moms side) looked like Jerry Reed for quite a while, I wish i got a photo of him looking identical to the Snowman. My Pa was a trucker so it was another thing he had in common with Jerry (from the movie). Pa died last yr. RIP Pa and Snowman. Elvis had Jerry Reed in the studio when he cut Jerrys version of Guitar Man.

I think Jerry Reed was one of the greatest guitarists there ever was along side of Chad Atkins. Back in the day when music was music. I listen to mostly the old music I don’t like this new wave of crap that they call music. These people inspired me to play guitar. I’ve been playing it for many years and love it and love to listen to my favorite guitarist. I have several Chad Atkins and Jerry Reed just happened to be a part of it. There’s nothing like playing a guitar finger style like Chad Adkins dad and Jerry Reed is right there right by him. That is as far as music goes . Thanks for your videos. I really appreciate them. You have a great way of presenting this to people. Thanks so much I appreciate it.👍🏼👍🏼😡🎸😎

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Yeah, I refer to him as “Snow Man” as well. I’ve enjoyed hearing him sing or seeing him act! He had such talent! Thanks for the tour & info about Jerry Reed. He was one of the few actors that I really wanted to meet, but never have been able to. I’ve played some of his songs for my boys over the years, so they are quite familiar with him as well. Lord Mr Ford…was about the 1st song of his I heard of…on 8 track!! Huh, what was that?! Yep, 8 track. He always came across to me as being quite friendly & down to earth. I bet I would’ve enjoyed his friendship. Not sure what others thought on that one. I understand about being respectful at a cemetery, but you don’t need to dress up to go to any of them, in my opinion. Blessings my friend. 🤩🥰✌️

We had a golf tournament in Dayton Ohio called the bogey busters, and Jerry Reed got to golf in it one year. And we also had a gala with it And he sang in it Well, I met him on the golf course, and he was drunker than a skunk. where I met I met him between holes were they got to eat. It and he told the cook he would like his hamburger cooked. Well done because the other one he had was only off the cow 10 minutes. And I told him I like my hamburger well done too and we talked for about 10 minutes. I remember this and I also got his autograph. Hot stuff. The movie did not have Burt Reynolds in it. It had Dom Delouise as his partner. That was one of my favorite movies of his.

I watched your video on Dick Trickle, so naturaly this popped up. I would almost put Jerry Reed in the same category as Glen Campbell, in the fact that they are famous for one or two things, but have so much talent beyond that. If I was making a Mount Rushmore of country guitar players; Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell, Roy Clark, Jerry Reed.
