Pretty much my go-to route when I'm in the Lakes except I've stopped using my gravel bike in favour of an XC race bike. Much more fun! When I was there the other month I camped on that rolling road between cathedral quarry and coniston. Very peaceful!

Looks too gnarly for a gravel bike to me. For me, gravel bikes are best on hardpacked forest roads.

What kind of mic do you use? It sounds pretty good with all this wind too

Having ridden round Grizedale many a time over the years, I’ll still take my short travel 29er every time. Slower in the ups but much more fun on the downs. And I do t have to be a #gravelwanker ;) Mind you at 2.1” you are on a ‘90s MTB.

Hand soreness quickly kills the fun with such riding. Have you considered trying out a suspension stem?

Only that last descent is a bit tiring on the hands. Funnily enough i have considered the suspension stem more for long road rides

@PeakTorque I guess there is something fun about being under biked , took my epic to bpw couple of weeks ago pedalled up had the best fun coming down , the enduro bike is like s steamroller in comparison to riding down hill on an xc bike
