Great ol' boat.......had a 1958 Chris Craft all wood. Was a great boat but man what a lot of work to maintain.

In 1960 i was 13yo, and my Dad bought me a boat for our cottage, it was 1956 Peterborough, a guy also had one that was much nicer than mine, the deck had inlay between the planks, and i often wondered how that was made, it was beautiful like a cherry color, I still wonder how it was done? I had an 18hp on mine and i think his was a 25hp they were both the same length, but his was much better looking with the deck planks

It used to be called Oakum. Was a packing that was used to seal the planks. Now folks just use a special caulk like 3M 5200.

@@longsspeed The one I'm looking at needs more wood but all the chrome and trim is there, the interior is really nice and the top is perfect. I think I'm going to pick it up. Thanks and good luck on your project.
