Remember the Tacoma Narrows Bridge or the Millenium Foot Bridge over the Thames?? Same Problem! The wind blowing at a particular speed sets up a vibration IN THE METAL just like Blowing into any Wind Instrument. Problem here is the vibration gets out of hand and the whole structure will eventually collapse. It is solvable. This architects company clearly cut corners on wind resistance tests of their design. Now they'll have to install Variable Shock Absorbers the TOTAL Length of the building to shut down the vibration. IT'S GONNA COST!! :)

This news is very misleading. The skyscraper ban came before that shaking incident. They banned skyscrapers because those tall buildings are not that efficient and cost-effective. Many of the skyscrapers in China and even around the world are half empty. The other reason they banned skyscrapers is because most Chinese big cities look kinda same, and lack originality. Just because you hate China doesn't mean that you have to make stuff up. I'm not a big fan of Chinese government but I don't make shit up to make myself feel better. You really think that just because of one shaking incident they stopped building skyscrapers? As if anything less than 500 meters won't collapse. There is a newly built skyscraper in San Francisco that's sinking, and recently a tall residential building in Florida collapsed. So does that mean all tall buildings in America are poorly built? This is poor journalism.
