That was because the labor in China is cheaper than in the US, so the manufacturers made more money while working people lost their jobs. The Chinese goods were less expensive, but didn't last very long, or were tainted with toxic materials. I bought a padlock made in China, but when I read the package that said I had to wash my hands after handling it, I wondered, "So I have to unlock my garage door, then go back to my second floor apartment and wash my hands, then take the car out, lock the garage and go back upstairs and wash my hands again? At the end of the day Govt has to take a decision like a father makes in a family. BJP Govt failed in doing so. The other issue, why would some one raise their religious flag on Red Fort in the current situation i.e., a farmer's agitation. In my view that was done to stoke emotional issues. Every year China builds more high speed rail, more airports, more subways. They are expanding on all fronts. India must do the same.
