No. The the US military left it's more than 20 bases in the Philippines, including Clark Air Base and Subic Naval Base in the early 90's. American forces were later allowed to "visit" the Philippines under the Visiting Forces Agreement and EDCA. Now, the Philippines, under Marcos Jr, has pivoted away from China and moved closer to the US. Marcos Jr has openly allowed the Americans access to more bases in the Philippines, giving the US the opportunity to station more US troops and military hardware and supplies in the Philippines.

Reminds me of the time in 1970s, during the term of Pres. Marcos Sr. Philippines has it's own missile program dubbed Proj. Santa Barbara and it even had its successful launch of our 1st Philippine made liquid propelled rocket called Bongbong rocket. Imagine if Philippines continued that program even to this day.

The Brahmos Missiles arrived today April 19, 2024 from India in a secret port. It was spread in the local news media but they didn't specify the port of entry of the delivery. Perhaps they made the delivery way back days or weeks or months ago but in secret.

Maybe the Chinese forgotten some of their history. They forgot about Philippine Forces vs China's Forces in a battle in Korea -- Battle of Yultong. The difference between Quality vs Quantity. And just recently.... In 2016, Chinese troops abandoned their UN post in South Sudan. Meanwhile in 2014, there was some international pressure when Filipino soldiers stand their ground in a UN camp in Golan Heights and refuse to obey orders to surrender to an Al-Qaeda linked group.

The new military realities in the Indo-Pacific was a direct result of China's move to not support the rules-based international order and its rapid military build up in East China sea and South East Asia sea. Because of this, Japan made the first move to renounce its pacifict stance. Japan couldn't do otherwise. Just hours ago, however, Japan reported warmer ties with China. Does this mean Japan have been correct all along? Japan doesn't want war with China and only want to cooperate.
