My parents are Muslim but Im an Atheist and Im living in south India. To be really honest and on behalf of all minority community I actually feel that Muslims or any person belonging to any faith can safely live in India. India has always been portrayed in western media of having problems between religions which is a lie to a certain extent. And I feel like Hindus are more tolerable to other faiths. You can publically scream 'Allahu Akbar' and no one would give a damn. But if I go to Saudi and say that Im an Atheist I would be arrested and thrown in Jail or even worse sometimes executed. Islamic countries have zero tolerance to other religions or ideology. And please I dont agree with all what the Indian government does but I can speak about it that is what democracy is and that is what you need. And frankly Muslims are killed more in Islamic countries than in other countries. Yes we have our problems but in the end when I see muslims being killed in the US,china,new zealand and pretty much basically all over the world for JUST being a Muslim Im really glad that I was born in this country. Maybe other cultures are synonymous to their religions which is fine, so let me explain, the ancient religion in Ancient Greece was about myths, and the 12 gods living in Olympus mountain etc; and yes Christianity has killed this old religion; but not the culture. greek culture, and the foundations of the western world, believe it or not is still deeply related to ancient times, I can easily read and understand most of the ancient scripts in Greek, engraved in ruins, stones, texts...same language really, in schools our education is based on Ancient Greek culture, mixed with Christian context and other cultural subjects that relate to the whole world. Our modern culture is very accepting of other cultures and is fed by them with great tolerance.
