People had hope with BJP but they also succumbed to this reservation drama. The only way in which parties like BJP who traditionally have been against this reservation can revoke it is when they get the security to retain the power otherwise why any political party would commit suicide. The prolblem is not those who will lose the reservation but those woke kids as well who think that BJP is continuing its legacy of the so-called BRAHMINICAL PATRIARCHY. SC, ST are some of the biggest supporters of BJP you might not see them on social media but numbers speak for themselves. The only way to overcome this is to replace the system with income-based reservation...to start with. If any political party do this....they should get immunity from the 1 term election to cool things down and aware the citizens of India.

Well you can not completely remove reservation but at least government can reduced % of reservation quota of each caste.Reservation should be given by seeing state development.Why state like Maharashtra,TN, Karnataka,Kerala needs reservation?States like Bihar,UP still needs reservation to breach gap between poor and rich. It is irony that our country is secular for religion practice but not secular when it comes to its education system.Our education system makes castism alive which eventually led to riots. All throughout my school life I never bothered to think to which caste my batchmates belong to. To me all of them were my friends, all of them were Indians. Fast forward to me attempting entrance exams, not securing any government seat but my friends who scored way lower than me got in. It baffled me, it just didn't make any sense. The caste I never discriminated against suddenly got planted in my head as the 'students who got in with reservation, they killed my merit'. It has created unnecessary hate in my mind for them. And that is... India's reservation policy for you. Reservation divides you more. Period.

I had 9463 rank in IIT advance 2015, couldn't make into an IIT, but my SC friend with 13k rank got admission in IIT Guwahati, an obc friend whose CRL was 7.5k but category rank was 1.4k and he got into IIT Bombay. There are millions like you and me now. But it's ok. This shouldn't be an excuse, if there's one seat, someone unreserved is going to qualify for it, and it's our duty to try and become that one ! 🙏💯

Imagine this... An ex-classmate of mine, apparently ST certificate holder, was able to secure a seat in my college(VJTI) with 56% while the cutoff was 99.2%. His sister entered IIM - A with 76% (percentile). Lol. And their father is/was a chief editor at TOI. Dude was loaded. Are they economically challenged? No Were their parent making more than ours already? Yes. Did they deserve the seat? No. This whole quota system is so flawed, its just beyond words now.

In my opinion, the core of the problem is the lack of good colleges and universities, even if you get rid of reservation the competition is still going to be cut throat, We should focus on building more infrastructure first, after that the reason for reservation itself will dwindle and people won't protest if you remove reservation, if you end reservation now, people and mostly poorp people are gonna protest

Reservation was never given on the basis of financial stability , it was given on the basis of social status Let's suppose a dalit boy and a brahmin girl wants to marry ,both the families have same financial condition ,let's say the boy is little bit more rich . Will they be able to marry .....? answer is "A big NO" WHY .? where is the logic that both are same if they have same financial condition...? Are they not equal...? Secondly reservation only gets you into the college ,after that if a high caste and a low caste student graduates both are doctor of equal capabilities because both have passed all the exam required to be a doctor. If a guy with 1000 rank doesn't get admission and a sc/st category student get admission in same college for 10k rank. if you look at the data from SECC (socioeconomic caste census), the poverty among SCs is 33.3% ST is 50.6% and generals is 15.6%, most of the sc and st who didnt fall under poverty line were barely above, what you are going through is sad but sadly most sc and st are not rich

Please don't blame reservation system for the feeling of caste that exists in our society motivating descrimination towards lower classes. It's purely because of caste based pride that people have. Unfortunately we are talking about removing reservation system without understanding the root of the idea of reservation that Dr. BR Ambedkar gave. Imagine you having to look around before whispering im a dalit. Imagine covering in shroud and that becoming a part of your psyche like your second skin. I'm a beneficiary of OBC quota in Undergraduate. That time as a 12th std student I didn't have any understanding about caste system. In school Many of my friends were from unreserved category and we still stay as besties forever. But I saw their dreams crushed into dust because of this quota system. I finished my UG and made sure I enter Post-graduation only under unreserved by working so so hard. It made me respect myself. And when I looked at my intelligent unreserved friends, they left this country and living happily in a foreign nation. I can't imagine what they would have gone through. Some stayed back and still struggling. This is new - inequality system. I will never ever utilise quota system in my life and I'll make sure my future generation will excel being unreserved.

You are projecting your anger onto SC/ST without any valid reasons. You should know that when only 8 to 15% is reserved to SC ST which comprises about 50% of Indian population, about 55% is reserved to general category which only comprises about 23% of India's total population. Oh where do I start!! Ok I'll choose the hits of my career: 1. I scored 695 out of 800 in PMT exam back in 2010. Needless to say I didn't get any mbbs seat whatsoever. While an ST/SC had to score just 450 to get a seat in the best mbbs college in our state. 2. Now that I was forced to choose other healthcare field, one of my best friends (Same social status as our middle class family) from school got admission into IIT owing to his reservations. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame him for the country's poor policies but some years back he got a _EXTREMELY_ good paying job and bought a ravishing car. Same things happened with me aswell... I went to take admission in a prestigious government school a few months back, they had 95 Percentage cutoff for general and only 80 percentage cutoff for reserved category..... My life would be over before the system even starts to change and that's why I have already started to learn German because I intend to go to Germany for further studies and stay there for the rest of my life........

As you said it is true that getting sets in government college is almost impossible and even there are lot of students from OBC ,SC,ST community how average and who score 80% and still didn't get sets . When I wrote MBA entrance exam ,the cut off was 60 marks ,but for sc and st it was 0.students who got 59 marks were not even eligible and the reserved category candidate were getting seats,now you can think what would be the quality of managers .My heart stops when I think of professions like doctors being churned out and how mediocre they might be.

You will never know that because you are also upper cast. Still today Upper cast parents will not give their daughter in marriage to a lower cast, or never let their son marry a lower cast woman. America also does not have caste system which opresses others and there is upward social mobility.( Of course they have racism though). The lack of upward social mobility is one of the reasons why casteism still exists. Doesn't matter what a person has done or how much he has grown if he was born as a low caste he will always be seen as lesser than an upper caste who may not have achieved even half of what the other guy did. That is the problem of Indian society. And as long as such a mind set exists the Country will never grow but instead be shackled to this backward ideology and forever remain poor. Hence why many people leave the county for greener pastures. In other countries there is upward social mobility so people can rise up above their birth through their hard work. Jobs are starting to. In US they are not legally allowed to put quotas (Supreme Court said in 1973) but they are allowed to heavily bias to achieve diversity, meaning that Blacks and Hispanics (which tend to preform worse and tend poorer) can get into colleges and sometimes jobs with lower qualifications than Whites and Asians. Companies also want to show diversity in their workplace for PR sake and go out of their way to hire more from these groups, despite less applicants. Not always but more often now
