@@tripaloski_6971 Well I have to say forever in my life, I couldn't open a bank account, and that is with HSBC. It's not because of eligibility, it's because the rude and arrogant attitude of HSBC employees towards new customers. Here is the story. My mum was trying to open this global currency account with HSBC. We did online application and all went well except need to go to Canberra branch to verify her identity. We went there with all supporting documents and expect it is a simple and quick turn around, but HSBC Canberra branch employee completely pissed us off and shocked us that opening a bank account could be that complicated and difficult. The lady serving us was not verifying my mum's identity but rather telling us something we already know from the web (like this fee that fee, interest rate blah blah blah) and also asked a lot of questions which are stupid. For example, why my mum wants multiple foreign currencies in the global currency account? I reminded her please verify the identity and those information we already know and my mum has the right to open up to 10 foreign currencies in that account so please speed up the process. The lady said to us every customer wanted to open account with HSBC has to stay there and listen to her for minimum an hour. I said to her, fine but please hurry up a bit as I do have to go to work and can't stay that long. Then she refused to serve us and said if we want to open the account, we have to make another appointment. Then she walked away and left us with her branch manager. I talked to HSBC Canberra branch manager but that lady is even more rude and asked us to leave. I was shocked HSBC employees could treat new customer like that. Such thing never happened in other banks. I have to say, HSBC, look at how empty in your Canberra branch. If that is your service standard, how could new customer come?

This guy just figured out the law of acceleration by himself , it is sad that nobody taught him that but at the same time it is wonderful he found it ou alone , he is just born at the wrong time of history , 500 years ago he would be considered a pure genius
For people wondering why it unrolls faster when you hold it higher: Because there is more toilet paper hanging down when you hold it higher up there is more material gravity is pulling down on one side of the roll than the other, which creates a greater pull on that particular side of the roll, making it unroll and speed up faster. When you hold it closer to the ground there is less toilet paper hanging down at any given moment so there is a smaller pull, which makes it speed up slower. If the weight of the toilet paper times the gravitational acceleration is less than the force required to get the toilet paper rolling you either need to give it a kickstart, or hold it up higher. And if it's lower than the required force/pull to keep it rolling you obviously have it too close to the ground. It's very similar to the so called "Mould Effect"

Hey gatis I analysed your experiment and found something which was ignored by you. When you unrole the paper from high it has less length to unrole as distance between roller and ground is large so a large part of paper was already unroled so it takes less time. If you do the same experiment with height equal to paper length it has nothing to intolerance so take time zero to unrole. But anyway, You are the best! You thought us many things Thank you very much. We love you! Keep making videos we learn many things from you!

Gravity is actually weaker when you are higher because you get further away from the center of gravity of the earth. The reason of this results is that you are forgetting that the distance where you are unrolling the paper and the floor is higher when you put it above you head and so the energy of the paper is higher and when you unroll a bit, it will pull the roll stronger due to the potential energy that is lost and thats why it unrolls more quickly. And otherwise when you try to do that with less heigth it will take more time because the paper falling is pulling more softly. If you want to try that out just unroll the paper on a platform with the same distance every time and you will see the results are almost the same because the difference in the gravity is that little that you wont be able to measure a noticeable difference, plus there are some other inperfections such as the strength of the paper rolled and the friction in the bearing affects like a billion times compared to the gravity force in the results. Your curiosity is very impresive and you are very clever thinking about the way that things interact with each other. Keep doing this ;) . Thanks for reading it!

Nice experiment! The force trying to rotate the toilet paper roll is the weight of the overhanging paper, this multiplied by the distance to the axis of rotation gives the torque generated. Since the weight of the overhanging paper is directly proportional to the height of the roll, therefore the higher the roll the higher is the torque produced and hence the higher angular rotation. Assuming we don't go too far away from the surface of the Earth.

Hey Gatis, Actually,u r correct, I am trying to point out why, Please Forgive me if I make any mistakes. Let, v = Final Velocity of tissue paper u = Initial Velocity of tissue paper g = acceleration due to force of gravity t = time taken by the tissue paper to cover the distance h = height of the tissue paper above ground We Know, h = u * t + 0.5 * a * t ^ 2 so by isolating time we see , 2 * (h - u) / (g = t ^ 2 Now, as we see Height is directly proportional to time but only if g is constant But g is always changing depending on may factors like the rock density an all... Moreover, the mass of the tissue paper is very low so it is affected by air pressure , therefore, the readings are different than expectations I hope I could probably explain the phenomenon Again i am sorry if i made any mistakes

This is not caused by the gravity being higher the higher the toilet paper is. Its just that, when you start it higher, there is more weight between the toilet paper and the ground that pulls the toilet paper (since, when the sheet of toilet paper touchs the ground, it doesn't pull it anymore). For example, if you put it 1 meter high, there will be 1 meter long of a sheet of paper pulling the toilet paper and, if its at 5 meter high, there will be 5 meter long of sheet of paper pulling it (so, in that case, should be 5 times faster).

Gantis I have suggestion for you when you hold it at height the length of toilet paper touching floor is more than as compared as you hold it at lower height as a result at height it gets unrolls early ( also more toilet paper exert more force this is also reason why at height it unrolls ultra fast)👍
@Indicxficial4 жыл бұрын
Okay, this theory is not completely wrong but it isn't also completely correct, since the paper roll is lower the weight applied to the rotation of the painting thing is going to be slower and if the paper roll is higher and the paper touches the floor too, there's going to be more weight that pulls down faster the paper and makes the roll go faster, is the same thing as when you try to pull a truck with chains alone and compare it to pulling it with more people, it's obvious that you're going to make it move much faster when there's people helping you pull it with you than when you're pulling it by yourself alone , let's say the people is the amount of paper that is not rolled and is already hanging, the more amount of paper the bigger is the force applied pulling from it, I hope you guys understood because it's kind of hard explaining this without showing examples.
@lukatrdina51084 жыл бұрын
Gatis, the problem is the floor. When you test for lower, the length of the paper that is still falling (aka, has not yet touched the ground) is much shorter than when you roll it from up higher, so the force pulling on the paper roll is lower bc the mass of the falling paper is lower, not because of inverse gravity
@Shogun61554 жыл бұрын
The reason is because he is u rolling it to the ground before starting the timer. It takes less paper to touch the ground when it is lower than when it is higher, meaning that that the higher it is the more of an advantage it has due to having a major head start. Like for example when it was lower it went so slow at start because it wasnt unrolled enough to start the momentum while when it was higher, he had passed the slow part because he rolled it more. Its a dumb experiment and im surprised no one realized
@thastayapongsak44224 жыл бұрын
I know this is comedy, but the reason it falls faster is because there are more mass pulled down by gravity and therefor more force pulling on the tp roll. more force = more torque, and more torque on the same tp roll will make the angular acceleration or the unrolling faster.

I know that this is a joke but for those people who are confused this is what happens. The higher the toilet paper is the more paper there was that was pulling it down so obviously the higher you the toilet paper is the more tissue paper is pulling it down. For example if the toilet paper was 5 meters high and I took the end and made it touch to the floor then there would be more paper to pull it down. Now if the toilet paper was 1 meter high and I took the end and made it touch the ground then less tissue is pulling it down. And also the gravity wouldn't change much even if you went up about 10km high. Since the gravitational constant is so small (6.67x10^-11) you would need to be way further from earth to see a difference in gravity so moving it a few feet higher isn't a factor as to why it unrolls faster.

There’s the gravity on the toilet paper from the small amount of area from the lower location to the ground and on the second one there is the same gravity plus the extra length higher so overall more gravitational force will be pushing down on it, it doesn’t matter where the roll itself is

The toilet paper that pushes down the roll is throne between the roll and the floor, the more distance you have from the floor the more weight of toilet paper will be pushing the roll.

Not sure if you're interested but by Newton's second law it's mass x acceleration and the mass of the toilet paper when it's higher is bigger because there's more toilet paper in the air which mean the Force down is bigger so it rolls faster.

hello Gatis. Nice video!. But i think in the formula of the "potential force" that is mass x gravity x height(distance from roll of tissue to floor) .. why is the tissue in the higher state can be faster than the tissue in the lower state? it's not because of the difference in gravity, but because the first fall of tissue has the potential energy that pulls the tissue on it. from the energy potential formula it can be concluded that the first fall of the first tissue roll in the higher state has greater energy that can pull faster the tissue on it

The case is not the height, it's that the amount of the toilet paper that pulled down is more because you make it touch the ground and if you pull down the same amount of paper at any the less hight it will result less time and more gravity because the if the amount is more pulls down the the other left faster, as you can see from the video when the amount of the paper toilet gets more the speed increases.

Gatis this only works at low height differences because there is more potential energy on the higher toilet paper but gravity force remains almost the same Put them 100 km apart (vertically) and it'll work differently

Idk if people believe this or not, if this a joke or whatever, but when you think about it you can understand why it unrolls faster when it is higher. My understanding is that since force is equal to Mass × Acceleration, and acceleration is added speed over time, when the paper is on the ground it does not accelerate anymore, but as it falls it gains speed, therefore the greater the height the paper initially falls from, the higher the speed will be before touching the ground. Since the toilet paper is connected, it will pull the rest of it down with it. That is why there is a noticeable unroll time difference depending on height. I could be wrong, but the concept makes sense based on my understanding of basic kinematics.
