UK personnel numbers that are combat capable is actually very tiny, only 40k in the Army rest are logistics and pen pushers, well known UK would be done in a month if SHTF. Could have done more? we were fighting alone against the NAZI war machine for several years before America decided to help, the Germans blitzed entire cities to rubble, wiped out entire residential, commercial and industrial sectors and our entire nation had become so bankrupt by the war people lived on rations and had no money, it took decades to recover.
