Gray hair and brow color

I like the Elf color, although I think you could make your brows a little thicker. I have been microblading my eyebrows for the past 5 years. I love how freeing it is! I use to take, at least, 5-10 minutes " penciling" in my eyebrows. Have been considering doing an "eyeliner", as well. The girl I go to always tries the colors before...to ensure I'm happy with the final color. I turn 59 in March. Thank you for your time.

Thankyou helped me alot. I also over plucked in the 1970s an only have half eyebrows to but the fashion back then was very thin eyebrows. Love your videos on grey hair also. Look forward the next one.

Hi Tanja, it isn't a matter of over plucked eyebrows, in many cases for older women, our hormones change after menopause, and our thyroid levels take a drastic drop. I had such a thick mane of hair when I was younger and now, the hairs get thinner by the year. The hairs on our head, our eyebrows, eyelashes, etc. take a drastic change. I too, in the 70's, overplucked my eyebrow hair, now, it's really sparse. I found that the Ulta taupe shade pencil is a very good color and texture. (get it at Ulta stores or Ulta online store.) You have to do the greyed taupe or mid tone brown/taupe look, with NO aspect of auburn/copper yellow or orange in the mix. I also have just started using the Benefit's Brow wiz and "gimme brow" in number 3 shade. You might like that as well. It's more expensive, but the brows do so much for the eyes, it's especially important when you get older! Get something waterproof, sweatproof that lasts as well!

OMG! I did the same thing & plucked my eyebrows when I was 14. That was 50 years ago. I do tell my granddaughters NOT to pluck their eyebrows!😊😊

I shaved my brows off in the 80’s bc there were no brow tools and tricks to use only a tweezer and my teen self couldn’t handle that. 😂 So - I’m 53 and I’m still drawing on my brows! 🥺 I’m a 👩🏻‍🦳silver sister 🫶🏻too 🖤🤍 and I struggled with a brow color bc the deep brown Maybelline red classic pencil ✏️ I was using wasn’t working for me anymore ! I too tried the ELF taupe pencil and had the SAME issues 👀 with it being not sharp enough like my Maybelline one and I WISH- Maybelline would go back to the “charcoal” colored pencil ❗️ I don’t like thin pencils at all so I’m on the look out 👀 for a good one!! 🙌🏻 thank you for this tutorial I too don’t want to tattoo my brows bc of the sagging issue that may come later in life. I hope I’m skilled enough in older age to do my brows still bc I do not want to be old and in a hospital with no brows 👊🏻🤪😂. I subscribed 🥰

I'm never able to find the right color so what I do is draw them on, brush with a spoiler and then dust with setting powder. That seems to adjust the color and make it perfect.

Microbladed eyebrows need touch ups. They usually cost far less than the initial procedure. Improvements have been made with them since your video was first uploaded.

Permanent cosmetics aren’t really permanent, they fade over time. So before your brows begin to sag it will be time for a touch up anyway. So go ahead with the tattoos. I love mine.

Try micro blading it dies not hurt and it’s the greatest thing I gave had done and I will be 67 in January and have them done for s few years now best thing I ever did

The pencil is good ....but you need to put a soft grey eye shadow,and put it on the eyebrows, with a eyebrow brush ...(it holds better)...but I tryed to look for the pencil (s.k.taupe)looked for it at target ?not there?

HI Vicky Thanks for the tip. I found out last month that Target is not selling Sonia Kashuk anymore they discontinued that brand :( I will be on the hunt for a new one.

Going thru gray hair transition and have sparse eyebrows like yours. I’ve purchased many different brow products and pencils. Bobbi brown makes gray soft pencil and a harder pencil with spoolie on other end. Love both. Tried many taupe colored products and they turned reddish on me.

I’m blonde turning white and I over plucked. Blonde brow pencils are too yellow. ELF is just ashy enough for me.
