Couldn't watch live 😞 but this was a LOT of fun! Thanks to Becky and Kon for a fun chat with Matt. Hope to see Matt, Seth, and Ricci on a livestream soon!

Okay, I admit it. You've got me hooked. I now look ahead to your next video like it's part of my weekly schedule. Thank you for including one of my KZbin favorites in Matt Irwin. It is a great video, so great job! Also, while I'm praising Grays, I subscribed to Nikon Owner's about 3 months ago, and it's now become part of my regular reading. I'm amazed how quickly it gets to me in the States. Great articles and beautiful quality in the printing.

This was the first place I heard about the Z8 service advisory. Thanks. I pre ordered on day one from Boston USA and mine is on the list.

12:34 the f4 zooms are pretty cool too - 14-30, 24-120, (???) and the 180-600

What a great live chat today! Truly sorry I missed it. Hope you all have a great weekend. I agree with a 14 or 16mm wide f/1.8 or f/1.4 would be great. It would solve my night photography challenge of getting wide, especially with the aurora borealis. As for the Z6III I would like to see a 26-33mp which would be perfect. A few more dx lenses would be nice a 16-200mm f/4 would be a nice all around lens. I think Nikon will hold back for quite some time with image capture for the Z8 as the Z8 with all this would take away from the Z9 sales and potentially kill their flagship.

I hope Nikon comes with a full frame retro camera (ZF)

ZM would be awesome ! several of us now have the Hasselblad X2D for its form factor, fabulous sensor and its simplicity. It's a delight to use.

Great chat session. I would love a 14mm f1.8 A 600 5.6 would be cool. I had the old Nikkor MF 600 5.6 years ago. Had the 400 3.5 as well

Couldn't see the livestream, but watching my two favourite Chanels in one show is great! Being Melbourne based I can relate to Matt's reviews and enjoy watching Kon and Becky. I have a Question- I'm an amateur newbie to full frame and picked up a Z5 two years ago (coming from a Canon crop sensor). I have an eclectic tase in image photography (limited movie), mainly landscape and nightscape but moving to bird and some macro photography. I have the 200-500m F5.6, z14-30 F4, z24-200 and z40mm F2 and wonder whether to move to the Z 180-600mm or upgrade to a Z6ii (or 6iii) body first. Can't do both at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Haha, I’d love a film/F5 video from Matt, even if it was just him talking about old cameras and stories about shooting film in they heyday of celluloid.

For ZF I don't think Nikon need a new sensor. I think it should just stick with the Z7 sensor.

Thanks guys - just a couple of lens requests. I have a Z7ii and 24-70 f4 which I use for landscape work with filters along with a 70-200 f4 G. When I travel or want a lighter set up I love the 40mm f2 - what I would love to accompany that is a wide light and small prime - 20mm f2.8 or even better 18mm f2.8. There were loads of old F mount versions that were good. I am even thinking about getting a Sony FE to Z adapter just so I can use the tiny and good Samyang 18mm f2.8. The cost of anything S other than the (Excellent) 24-70 f4 is prohibitively expensive to most amateurs in my opinion. I aways buy secondhand too. Just my thoughts thank you. Andy

A ZF with IBIS 1/32000 sec ISO 64-51200➡ decent ergonomics like Z8 wow Im all in oh do not forget fully workable Grip option

I think Nikon can add a 20-40mm F2.8, or 16-35 f2.8. then 35-150mm F2-2.8. I guess 35-150mm F2-2.8 will come later because Nikon is working with Tamron to bring out 70-180mm F2.8 and 17-28mm F2.8

I agree about using a less expensive camera for certain situations. But the cameras today are capable for 4k/HD and are just as good for most people. How many of us have a 8k tv or the majority watch our videos on the cellphone instead of computers and tvs. Would like smaller pancake lenses like the 26mm and from the range 10mm - 24mm. Cheers!

I think we’ll have fewer lenses. The consumer-grade lenses aren’t as necessary because that type of photographer tends to use their phone. The tilt shift lens effects can largely be done in software. The videographers’ need to avoid focus breathing and for super silent motors seems to lead to more expensive lenses.
I hope they do a Z mount refresh of the Nikon 28mm f1.4 ED AF-S lens, to me it is one of Nikon's very best lenses. I'm sure they could make the bokeh creamier or the in focus parts a bit sharper edge to edge or something, but in reality there's very little to upgrade as that lens was pretty state of the art in 2017 anyway. Though I do think the priority should be the 35/1.2, I hope that can launch by the end of the year. If it is essentially just like the 85/1.2 but for 35mm, it will be spectacular. Cinema lenses would be very cool. Plenty of Nikkor lenses over the years have been rehoused for film productions, going back to Full Metal Jacket famously and more recently the Nikkor-Noct 58mm f1.2 was used on both Joker movies shot by Lawrence Sher. I'd love to see them create a cine version of some of their recent high end lenses like the 58mm f0.95 or the 85mm f1.2, those would sing in those use cases and it would be cool to see both with fully manual mechanical focus and aperture controls in the typical cine lens housing/styling.

To Matt and Kon and becky I think Sigma will bring out some day a Z 105mm F1.2 or even 1.1 just day dreaming btw I am still shooting D800 with the 105mm 1.4 Bokehmaster from Sigma and the 20 mm

The reason Nikon is in the Black they hold back from releasing too many cameras because they are studying the market with the other camera companies on sales of their products. I would love to have a Z6III in a retro body. Also they are cautious and they do not have the bank roll as Sony or Canon but they are releasing the lenses and are doing a great job.
