This song came out around the time my first child was born. I was working evenings while my wife worked primarily during the mornings and afternoons. One morning, shortly after she left for work, our little baby girl started bawling and wouldn't stop crying. I was so exhausted from a lack of sleep -- all I wanted was sleep -- that I momentarily thought of being violent to make her stop screaming... I instantly felt terrible... horrible... disgusted for having such a horrible thought... and was eventually able to soothe her back to sleep. Later that day as I drove to work, this song came on the radio and when the words, "I never meant to hurt you" came on, I started bawling little baby. This song will forever make me think of my daughter -- I love it every time I listen to it. Thank you Grayson....

I also love old Classic Country and even Old Time Opera thanks to my Grand Parents and the rest that came here in the early 1900s from Italy! True Leroy, I have the same. The more songs I listen to from when I was a kid, the more I want to go back to do it all over again and stay in that period. It is really saddening indeed how the world has turned out to be. I am thankfull I have experienced the eighties and nineties fully aware. Only sad I did not know back then what I know now. I am glad there are more people thinking his way. So I am not alone at this.

Such a great song, Grayson has that great blue-eyed soul voice, has a Sam Cooke tone to his voice, he really should have been huge

I remember this in 1988 when my brother over sea sent me a mix tape with that song in it and the first time I play that song was at the college dance I DJ at.

I was 9 years old when this came out. Tune was different than other things out at the time and it was one of my favorite tracks that came out that year! Glad this song can still be heard today and its power still holds!

I want a current remake by Grayson! This is one of the best songs ever. Never get sick of it. And hard to believe from 1989 (I was 14, and it brings me right back to those great times).. Seems like it could have been early 60's R&B. Very romantic, and I'll bet many babies were conceived to this song. So for you around 32 millennials...think about that. Lol

I so love this song! I live in W Cent Ga & was on my way back from FL...it was just me & my 1st born & it about 1 AM. I was in my little sports car so he was in the front seat w/me. I didn't hear it again for weeks. Didn't know who it was singing and considering the time-line you could only go into a record store. GOOD GOSH!! I can't beleive it was that long ago. Songs can always move you and bring back memories. Much love from The Great State Of Georgia!! 🥜🍑

Thank you. I have racked my brain for yrs. trying to nail that combination of vocal sound. I've always thought of Sam Cooke but you're right with the Steve Perry touch in there. I'm glad to hear what he is doing now. Very much deserved.

I remember working a crappy dead end job at the local drugstore and this would come over the speakers. We had MUZAK FM1 in the store and one day I called their HQ in Seattle on lunch. After work I went and bought the cd. Probably cassette actually but I just know I have the cd in my collection now. "Blind To Reason" would become my favorite from the album. And "Bring It All Back" is also a great song. "Talk It Over" always put me in the best mood at that crappy job. Thank You Grayson, not only for this treasure, but for an excellent album in its entirety. Proud it was part of the soundtrack of my life!
