To my ears it felt like their goal wasn’t to prove something, to manufacture a song specifically for competitive purposes, they mainly wanted to have some chaotic fun. Just raw, sincere, unpretentious energy and that sometimes wins people’s hearts. P.S. that very last scream sounds best kind of infernal.
@RGudmetalhead Жыл бұрын
@@mnardoni65there is no such thing as “bad music”, it’s all purely subjective. You have your opinion, I have mine, neither matter on a global scale as no quality criteria is truly objective.
@RGudmetalhead Жыл бұрын
@@manuskateboard1507 Ironic, you accuse me of trying too hard, yet it's you who shove this meaningless subjective criteria and self-set bars just in attempt to justify why you simply haven't had fun listening to that track. As I've said, it's all subjective, it's all doesnt matter. This song isnt complex, of course, but it doesn't have to be, it has other things for some to like it for. I used to think just like you, same for a lot of people I know. Wrote very similar comments criticizing bands/songs. This way of thinking just stops making any sense for anyone who understood subjective nature of art. You either like it or not, as simple as that. If you don't- just move on. Your critique doesn't matter for those who like it even if they do agree with it.
@RGudmetalhead Жыл бұрын
@@manuskateboard1507 you don't know anything about my current musical abilities and what my music library contains, yet you make that judgement. The fact that you try to do it and rest of your argumentation tell quite a lot about your ability to use logic though. Spoiler- your intuition doesn't work at all. And it's funny to hear "Im not talking here about complexity" from a person who just said "They don't even use chords. They use numbers in the frets". Unless by that you've meant that they don't communicate between each other in formal theory, but just poorly communicated it (still a meaningless point). Because it sounded like using just single notes and octaves isn't enough for you. last time I falsely believed that concepts like "good/bad song" and "good/bad taste" exist in objective field (just like you believe now) was many years ago. Perhaps at least 7 or 8. You just don't get it yet and because of that you're completely missing the main point of all my messages, despite me being very clear. Discussing composition is pointless as standarts and expectations are absolutely subjective. To me, there's nothing unexpected composition-wise for a deathcore-slam song made for fun, it's as stupid as they wanted it to be. And energy, chaos and great vocals are enough for me to kinda like it (yeah, i'm not even very into it). If it's unacceptable for you- ok, that is subjective opinion. Nothing wrong with having one until you try to pose it like an objective one and try to prove it's the only right one. I'm not trying to convince you that this song must be good for you, just saying that it's pointless and not logical of you to argue about such purely subjective matters. Cause whole idea of calling overall art piece "bad" ,only because it wasn't your cup of tea, doesn't contribute to anything good, except for giving people who do it a false idea of being smarter than everyone who disagrees. People who like it will still like it cause they a) not trained to see same flaws b) see flaws but ignore them cause there's enough good for them c) have different expectations, so those flaws aren't flaws at all. They are right in liking it as much as others are right in personally disliking it. This aint physics, there is no right way to do art. So all that pseudo-objective bashing does is it creates needless negativity and turns communities toxic. It divides people for reasons that don't matter. It is also one of the thing that contribute to artists suffering from imposter syndrome and constant self-doubt. And I'm bloody tired of seeing that, especially in metal communities, that's the only reason I'm still continuing this conversation. Maybe I won't convince you now if you aren't ready to listen, but perhaps someone else will see this and think.
@sharkuel11 ай бұрын
@@manuskateboard1507I actually went to listen to your music, expecting some levels of composing that would make a Dream Theater fan or a Tool fan nerd out, and I gotta say, I am quite disappointed after reading these "bigman musician words". I love the ingenuity of this entire series as a concept. It's like a big music video but with behind the scenes content. Music mansion as a series could be like a series of artists documenting their growth as an artist in a band brought together, that can change if the creators choose, but I believe they could do solo work too if they redo their challenges for the next series. But I was saying the ingenuity of this concept comes from how practical it is to those who get it, the mind of artist/songwriter really comes in handy when thinking about this series. When a band makes song/albums, they're not all mad in a day, some can be but others kinda come together later, but I'm saying a band normally releases albums or EPs at a yearly or more frequent rate, while releasing a single or too to keep the interest/hype
@kyanothesacredfoo222 Жыл бұрын
Music mansion could record days/weeks of content whenever they want and release the content over time, I wouldn't be surprised if they already started this or it's in the process, but I'm saying as an artist/series producer it would be cool to see how you keep it going. I have my own ideas of shows I want to make, like I wanna do a Hot ones Inspired interview/talk show host but band edition and talk to bands only
