The Grease gun and the Sterling are unironically good when the Devs implemented the Night mode PvP modes. They’re cheap and have effective suppressors. The problem is the devs were cheaper than the Econ cost and removed the mode.
@LiamDCoughlan2 жыл бұрын
The grease gun was actually loved by the guys that used it. Great stopping power, the ability to get off single shots because of the slow cyclic rate and it’s light weight in comparison to the Thompson. It’s one of the first .45 sub guns I think of when someone mentions .45 SMGs.
@TheOneWayDown2 жыл бұрын
It's unironically probably the best .45 smg that's ever been made. Thompson was great, but the original was built on a scientific principle that doesn't exist, had to be converted to simple blowback, and was still an expensive and heavy bitch with finicky magazines. The Vector is really more of a tech demo for kriss's vertical recoil system, the UMP just a .45 smg that noone bought. And of course, now .45 ACP is falling out of favor as a whole because modern 9mm loads often have comparable muzzle energy, for substantially more magazine capacity. The grease gun is the only thing dirt cheap and marine proof enough to still have a place anymore apparently
@CxOrillion2 жыл бұрын
@@TheOneWayDown If you asked me if I'd rather have an M1 or M3 at hand if I needed to fight, I'd probably pick the Thompson. If you asked what I'd rather equip a shitload of dudes with in order to fight a shitload of other dudes? M3 all day, every day. I would go so far as to say that it's in the top 3 military SMGs ever designed, for its ability to fill its role. It loses to the PPS-43, because of course it does. It would also lose to the KP m/44, but that's just a copy of the PPS. second place is the Sterling.

In coop, the Sterling, Uzi and Grease gun are pretty fun from time to time. Because of the low cost in supply points, you get room for grenades, attachments and secondary weapon. Shame the ai is completely braindead though, they shoot faster than you can aim with these guns. Yes, these guns are slow. However because they're so slow, they're accurate. Combined with the recoil, the second shot you fire might be a headshot. People don't expect you to use them, which makes them more fun to use.

Chuck Pressburg of AWG specifically mentions the M60 being a preferred machine gun because he could just CHUGGA CHUGGA at people with little to not effort and make multiple hits. Tomygun was very heavy around 10 lbs unloaded, for comparison the garand was 9.5 lbs unloaded , very expensive.. around 200 dollarinos. All due to the fact it was milled, not stamped ,Firerate was too high and the stock to low (muzzle rize was pronounced). It is everything bad about gen 1 (ww1 , expensive designs , usually milled ) smg's. The greasegun was cheaper ..15 dollarinos, LIGHTER around 8.15 lbs , the stock was more inline with the bolt aiding full auto stability but it was a wire stock so bad not very comfy. ROF was painfully slow . It had a supressed variant. It was shorter. And it was not a sten in terms of reliability. And loosing one for improvised smg traps (actually a thing ) wasnt as big of a deal as loosing a tompson. Ergonomics were shit lets be honest.

I never understood the need for a 45cal smg. Most of the world that accepted an smg at any point, kept it simple. 9mm or a similar custom round that had enough punch for CQ. the Thompson may as well have been called "baby BAR". @@serwalkerofthekeynes8761 multiple factors were at play here. 1 . Later their automatic pistol (colt m1911 was originaly supposed to be a 38cal/ basicaly some variant of the 9 mm, but Army insisted on the 45). Now that the us army was stuck with 45, their smg also had to be in a widely available 45 cal. Otherwise you create a logistics nightmare. Especialy in wartime. I feel like the reason you do good with this over any other high tech modern gun is geared more down to a psychological level. When your given inferior tech, you feel more vulnerable hence your reflexes and senses sharpen up. Your on the trigger faster, you hit your shots more etc and that’s what makes up for the lower fire rate, bad sights etc. I’ve always noticed this when comparing bolt actions vs Semi auto marksman rifles. I feel more precise with bolt actions whereas semis tend to be mind numbing and easier to use catching you off guard when you end up missing an enemy mag dumping. At least that’s my theory on the topic

My fellow gamers, I'd like to introduce you to something transcendental that defies logic and our understanding of the world around us, to intrinsic property of the universe, which hasn't been studied yet, but which many of us, gamers, already encountered, though haven't been able to fully understand nor explain. I want to introduce you to the concept of WEAPON'S KARMA. Some bad weapons just perform good, outstandingly good for what you would expect out of them. I first discovered such phenomena in bf3 when decided to use pp2000 on Noshahr canals tdm 64 players server. I was confidently outgunning colonels 100 with AEKs and M16A3 using this piece of russian engineering game after game. I couldn't believe this. I took it further and went playing conquest with this gun and you know what? It still performed shockingly good even at long ranges. I asked my close friend who played shit lot of bf3 what he was thinking about pp2000. And it seemed like he felt similarly about this gun, that it shouldn't perform as good, but he never really came as far as to agree with me on this weapon being kind of supernatural, like luck itself was on your side when you were holding it in your hands, craziest outplays happened while I was playing with it. From then I discovered only so many such weapons in different games, and grease gun is definitely one of them. Sick snipes couldn't understand logically why he was playing as well with this seemingly crappy gun and even referred to luck in this video, but true reason for his extraordinary performance is grease gun's "karma". One of my guesses is that this hidden parameter may even be changing probability of "winning" outcomes for users of such weapons in the internal machinery of reality itself. I don't really have any answers for how this even works, only observations and hypotheses. But this video gives me one more strong evidence of weapon's karma existence.

I honestly run the grease gun any time I'm not RPing a bush, and it's just insane how good it feels. I'm just slowly but inevitably melting every opponent I come across. It's like they forget to shoot back when they hear that slow chug of bullets hitting them in the nards.

I thought the same thing about Burger King, but there's a new one almost done being built by my house. They gotta be the worst fast-food burger.
