What a nice little visit to Blind Sucker, Sam is the man! I have to use reading glasses to see the rocks and be 2 feet away I spend a lot of time bent over looking...ahh the joys of being older 🙂 One of these days I know we will cross paths until then I wish you the best of luck hunting! 52'ish years searching for agates and the most important part of going to look is just being on the shores of this beautiful lake.

@MichiganRocks5 ай бұрын
If you have other places you could stop at, I'd consider somewhere other than Whitefish Point. You'll find some rocks there, but that beach gets a lot of picking because of the museum there. A couple other beaches that are easy to get to that you might consider are the Lake Superior beach at Muskellunge Lake State Park or just down the road at the Lake Superior State Forest Campground. Those are both a ways from Whitefish Point, but if you're going past them, they're better in my opinion.

If you want agates, you & your wife really need to make a trip to Utah. So many places to find many different specimens & colors of agates. Small to huge sizes, literally. So much Chalcedony, huge boulders of Jasper, Piegion blood agate, Salina blue Agate, geodes, Amethyst, obsidian. Not to mention jems to find such as topaz, red Beryl, sun stones, onix, etc....list go on & on. I literally have buckets of most of these. Still trying to find the prize of Red Beryl, ha!.
