Great Cars: LAMBORGHINI

Sant’ Agata was the home of a poor farm boy who was pressed into the Italian Air Force transport section during World War II. He became a prisoner of the British military, who put him to work building and maintaining army trucks and other heavy vehicles until the War ended. When Ferruccio Lamborghini finally returned to his hometown he brought with him scraps of leftover engines and began to convert them into much needed tractors for farming. From then on whatever Lamborghini touched turned to gold. He became a rich man and could indulge his love for fast cars. It wasn’t long before he became the visionary manufacturer of one of the most avant-garde automobile in the world - Lamborghini.

For my taste the Miura is the most beautifully sculptured analogy of speed ever built as is the Espada for elegant flamboyance. And the visual references are 'The Italian Job' and 'La Piscine'. Of course no mechanic would be so fond of motors which cost him a fortnight tuning the carburettors only to barely breathe in harmony. Piëch will ever be praised for mother 917, but was the undertaker for Lambo. Thankyou.

The Ford GT40 didn't just challenge ferrari, it caused Enzo to purchase stock in a company that made wood screws, cuz Enzo needed a lot of em after Ford blew ferrari's doors off....

Maybe they should. People have tried to produce films about the grudge match between Henry Ford II and Ferrari. That has a great story arc. Not sure what the Lamborghini story would be. Its beginning, middle and end.

Simple - beginning: Lamborghini buys a Ferrari and is not impressed, and tells Enzo. Enzo says "Oh yeah? You think you can do better? Then build a car yourself, beeotch !" Middle: Lambo says "Game on, jerk !" and starts building Miuras, Countachs, etc. End: Lambo sits back and laughs while the money rolls in. Roll credits.

Apollyon besides, the best story in all of this whole deal is between Shelby, Ford and Ferrari with Shelby losing the WC by 1 point due to Ferrari’s cheating the rules and then Carroll gets his revenge the next year. After that, the GT40 story isn’t quite as interesting...although if they do that story they better get Dan Gurney’s first ever racer champagne magnum pressure wash right!

Amusing that Enzo’s Ferrari’s insult to Feruccio Lamborghini created major competition to Ferrari to this day.... “ If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” ...could save/make you millions. Probably the best thing to happen to Lamborghini is to be bought and run by Germans...they know what they’re doing.

The 350 GT, the Miura and the Countach are the most beautiful of them all. Actually on second thoughts, I cant make up my squizzly mind - all of these Lambo’s are so beautiful. But from the stand point of “era” then I love the ones of the 60’s,70’s,80’s and 90’s ahmd early 2000’s best.

I think Lamborghini should build A4 door car for the people affordable car with something like a 2.0 ,, 3 L based on bmw and Audi , MERC it could be an amazing car the car does not need to be stupid fast just powerful enough design and technology it could be great and possible bestseller obviously being at a reduced price compared to the other cars,, everyone would remortgage their house to get one 100-percent and it would run in production for many many years petrol diesel etc battery please tick the box if you agree thank you James lattomore 3.2 TDSI SUPERIOR

16:20 Mentioned De Tomaso being interested in buying the company, but the Lamborghini Wikipedia page says nothing him (except that he was a competitor in 1968, and neither does the citation source 31 "Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. History"), and the De Tomaso wikipedia page says nothing about Lamborghini at all. However, in 1975 De Tomaso purchased Maserati, perhaps this was a misremembering by the script author?

Maserati sports cars didnt they build a 4-door car in the late 70s early 80s and I think it was quite a good seller was in the james bond film was it Timothy Dalton who played James Bond I think it was

The engine was based off of the Audi V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, the Lambo V10 has 4 valves per cyl. These short 25 minute documentary's make several mistakes and leave out a lot of pertinent info...

Nope, the only bull here is YOU. Murcielago was the name of one of the most famous bulls in Spanish bullfighting, because one day he survived a lot of sword strokes. That bull was later given to a breeder called Miura, who started the Miura line of fighting bulls. That's where the names of the Murcielago and Miura cars come from, nothing to do with bats. Espada, Diablo, Gallardo, Aventador, Huracana, etc, all Lamborghinis have names of fighting bulls or things related to bullfighting.
