The parents is a metaphor for fans… she’s telling her fans to back off and stop controlling her! Love it
@vidsorama26 ай бұрын
I see that others have already explained that this song is not really about her parents but about toxic, entitled fans who tried to bully Taylor and to control her life. They went way overboard in 2023 when they objected to the guy that she was dating. It is pathetic how they tried to insist that she do what they wanted her to do instead of what she wanted to do. "Daddy" is the group of toxic "fans". Sadly, a lot of them don't seem to realize that she's telling them off. They are the "vipers dressed in empaths clothing". Thanks for the reaction.

This song is a Big F.U. to the toxic group of her fans! They b itched and moaning because she started dating someone they didn't like. They completely lost their minds. They wrote her an open letter demanding she stop dating him, apologize for doing so, and a list of other things all because they didn't like the guy. They threatened to not be fans anymore and throw away their merch of hers. Seriously! She is saying I don't owe you anything, stop trying to control my life. If you think you can, I don't want you as fans. Any true fan doesn't act like that. There are so many immature Swifties that make us normal ones look bad. They are obsessed, demanding and kind of stalker-ish.

Lol. Digging deep for clues is part of the fun. This time, it isn't about Kanye. It is about the outrageous over reaction of the public, media, likely her management team and toxic fans trying to treat her like a child and interfering in her choices. She is an adult person and has the right to pick her own partner.

@@HIM_066xMusicReactions if you do that song (please do!) I'd recommend the 10 minute lyrics version of her in the studio before the short film so you can really let the lyrics hit before the imagery. Then PLEASE do "The Manuscript" after "All too well" (and really the whole red album).

I love that one can approach her songs superficially or on a deeper level. Her music/writing is so complex that you can analyze everything she says because it often references other things. The Easter egg thing is totally a rabbit hole. Someone mentioned yesterday that the line "TIME doesn't it give some perspective..." could also reference the TIME magazine cover story she did before this album. I.e. go back and read what was talked about in the article.

In the lyrics online, 'West' is capitalized in every case, and Taylor doesn't do anything randomly. You should dig into the #speakupnow story to know who this song is for, among others. 🤭🤭

Love your reactions and insight. It’s correct in manu ways that you think. But also… Daddy in this isn’t just her talking about her parents. It’s all of the media, obsessive ”fans” and so on. She dated a guy and obsessive little girl fans made a petition for them to break up. So this is also like her saying you don’t know me and i choose who i’m with!

I didn't see it mentioned yet (sorry if I just missed it), that the "wild boy" in this song is Matty Healy. Most of the TYPD Anthology album(s) is about Matty Healy, and a lot about Joe Alwyn... who she was with for 6 years. Both are from England. hint * The Alchemy and Feel so High School are about TRAVIS KELSEY! 😍🫶 *

She told those fans to STFU. DADDY = her toxic fans. She’s REALLY MAD and is clearly telling crazy fans to stay in their darn lane and to let her date whoever she’s going to date. This is to make her fans know what she thinks of their opinions. Not too much. LOL.

P.S. At the biginning of the Era's Tour in 2023, she was still heartbroken about the Joe (and Matty?) situation. 😭

If unhinged is not knowing the lore lol then🤷🏾♂️. My goal is to break down the song and talk about lyrics from my pov (a person who is unfamiliar with the lore and simply listening to an artist who is an amazing lyricist) imo the beauty of art is its various interpretations. If you are looking for a channel that does a deep dive with the lore in mind I am not the channel for you and that is totally okay the platform is huge, I have no doubt you will find a reactor that suits your needs. No, not about Kanye - could be, but it's not really relevant except she was trying so hard to be a good girl when Kanye did his thing. And management wouldn't let her respond, plus she was a kid and didn't know how. Hannahs and Sarahs are church lady fans management wanted her to keep. And then she grew up. Taylor was subject to extreme slut shaming for normal dating in her 20s by that variety of fan, plus her own dad and management team, and record label. Alliteration, yes! She uses words that either make you think or blow right over your head. This song gives me revenge joy - which is Taylor got what I did not, and she acted like a grown up the whole time.
