Hello Mark, I loved this video "Great Fruit & Veg for Summer in My Subtropical Garden" It also is another good example that any one who is willing to put out the effort can grow at least some of their food ETC. I bothers the heck out of me to hear someone say "But I Can't!" it takes me back to when I was in the first grade, the teacher would say "Can't never did do nothing!" that was when I was about 6 and I'm 72 now and that phrase she said so long ago has stuck with me. Wow talk about a real orchard. So much variety.That has to be amazing to have fresh homegrown grapes,pineapples and mango to pick at the perfect time. Gosh the taste of those have to be amazing. Who knew a cockatoo sounded like that. Good grief that's an awful sound! I like Malabar spinach cooked better than raw. Glad your family like its. Its nice and healthy plant. I have a peach tree that was infected by a fungus in 2017, I poured 3 buckets of compost tea around the trunk at its roots and the fungi decease seemed to be gone, but I don't know if the compost tea killed the fungus or it was just luck. The idea is that the compost tea has lots of microbes and food for them, so when the compost tea hits the soil the microbes eat the fungi in the ground because the microbes outnumber them and they're enemies.

There is nothing better than walking around the garden eating a little of this and a little of that as you go. I hate peas but when the pods are ready in the garden I'm happy to pick and eat them all straight off the plant.

I love your channel. It is beautiful and it reminds me of my mother garden. She always had beautiful rocks around her garden. Every time she went to the mountains she would come back with a rock or two that she just couldn’t live without. She also had a green thumb. I love your area over there. Nice.

Up here in Missouri USA, fruit growers suggest using jugs with vinegar water to attract the moths that lay worms in the apples. I think fruit flies will also be attracted to vinegar water in jugs placed around your garden and orchard.

Can still fit another 30,000L in our water tanks so I'd love another 100mm before new year. We didn't have anywhere near as much rain this time last year. It was pretty dry up until march. I put about 20 fruit trees in last winter so this water has saved them from shrivelling up.

One of the trees hardest hit by the dry weather was my feijoa. Seems to have survived with only 1 hand watering though which is good. It's not looking great but it's not dead. Mulching heavily around trees helps immensely (I noticed you had recently mulched). I suspect that's why your neglected bananas struggled, but bananas do love lots of water. I reckon bananas don't need as much fertiliser as people make out, but they do need water for those heavy stems and leaves. As you said - they'll come good.

Glen: I have some advise for you. I suppose you are in Australia. If you prune this Mango tree, so that more sun can penetrate the middle of the tree, and reduce the size of the peripheral limbs. Please repeat pruning every year.

LMAO.....Mark, he certainly does stand out. Your chillies are fantastic. With the kale that hasn't been attacked those plants are probably really healthy. There is a school of thought among a few organic gardeners that pest target unhealthy plants and leave the healthy ones alone, something to do with succession and only the strong plants surviving. Don't know how true that is but can make sense. Another great walk through Mark, really enjoyed it. Have a good one mate :)

Was the channel you were watching 'uncle knackers?'( Shaneconlan1). I have tried to grow kiwi in UK( without success) but I have managed to sprout Mango, lychee,orange,lemon seedlings in the greenhouse and almond .... and an outdoor bursa fig tree... don't expect to get fruit but it's nice to do it... It would be interesting to take seed from the naturally pest resistant plants to see if it carries on to the next generation...

Near peed my pants on your intro. While I don't know who you were copying (much!!!), you realise you might have started a trend? LOL. My cucumbers are fruiting well but hit by mildew after the rain. Yours look fantastic! My egg plants are flowering pretty nicely. My one year old fruit trees and grape have definitely left me with a case of fruit envy after seeing yours mate. My chilies are doing nicely at the moment but they are small varieties. Hey, can you let me know how your chooks are laying? My girls have slowed down to about half speed for some reason. I've played with food and am starting to think it's the heat.
