Give me a break, FT2 is legendary! Plus when I did this, there were no decent SID play routines on PC like there are today. Having it in .XM format mad it easily distributable and playback was a piece of cake.

Great work! Fastracker 2 rulez! Btw, I made the music for Giana Sisters DS and Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams. Thanks for checking it out! Cheers, Fabian

ThankYOU, thanks - dAnKa .. my oh my I id, at LAST the proper music to the Giana Sisters. Not the title song but this intro - and by gum lad, you did it proud. Don't me wrong the Toccata and Fugue inspired title tune is superb but this upbeat number, excellently delivered by you Mr Norris is the greatest jolly Amiga related music ever written. Love it, capturing it and burning it and tomorrow it will be blasted out from within my Car - convertible roof down - for all to hear! ; 10/10 friend:):)

I did, it's the same song used on the Amiga, but this is the C64 version as you quite rightly point out :) Thanks :p

@shairaptor I used the extra 4 for a re-verb effect. There is a 4 channel version.
@em00k14 жыл бұрын
@DJPaggos it wasn't from a midi. I sampled the various sounds i needed to emulate the sid synth sounds. I then stripped the original into single channels then recreated what I heard in FT2.

@pastorrtom I used an extra 4 channels to ad reverb.

No use Renoise, the 2012 Fasttracker. It works awesome and read the old XM files perfectly! It even supports VST plugins!

Hey I absolutely love this cover. Do you have a MIDI you want to share? I would really love to make this in Minecraft, but copying this from the screen is a bit much.
@em00k3 жыл бұрын
Hi, this was done by ear from the original C64 SID tune. The player I was using didn't show the source notes but let me solo each channel, I would then sample the section and I would listen then then write the notes in the tracker (this is why it has some very minor differences). You can download the original here : api.modarchive.org/downloads.php?moduleid=165075#gianasis.xm and play back in Fasttracker here : 16-bits.org/ft2.php

Ahhh... just a bad habit I can't get rid of. No offense.I'm just a Commodore user for nearly 2 decades now. So it's my duty to write stuff like that from time to time. ;-) And FT2 was of course a good program. Some people say it was for the PC what Protracker was for the Amiga. But it can not reproduce the soul of the SID. :-P
