That was a nice thing you did. It's important to know your ancestors and if you live near the cemeteries their buried in and help those who live far away to connect them with a picture and the place.

Robert, I looked up the Navy "rate" TN and found that it relates to a person who was a ship steward. before the integration of the U.S. Military, African-Americans could only serve in non-combat roles - cooks, stewards, etc. It is a great service you do for people who ask you to find a grave. Your viewership stretches far and wide.

Your work with old cemeteries is so commendable. I believe very strongly that just because someone dies, does not mean their life no longer has any meaning. There are connections we have with the past that are everlasting. So wonderful that you were able to help Mr. Jackson connect with his ancestors.

I love that you made the trip to visit and document these graves for a family member. Reminds me of ring or family heirloom returns that are found by detectorists. Always makes me smile. I also loved seeing the pictures of this precious couple. Thank you again for sharing another great video Robert 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hello from an 'up north' LaGrange. It's a town so small it doesn't even have a traffic light, but it's home. Love your adventures into history. In the cemetery here, we have Civil War vets, one them a Bronze Star recipient, I believe. Several are memorial markers for sons who never came home. One in particular states that the soldier died in Andersonville. Odd how in a country this vast, there's still a common thread. Keep up the good work, Robert, and hello from Maine.

Great video with your acts of kindness showing, ie, piecing that gravestone back together. The gravestone just above it was off kilter too. Makes you wonder if some piece of cemetery equipment did the damage. Anyway, why is it important for us to see the gravesites of relatives or whoever? To me it makes the person more real. It may have been someone that we've heard about all our lives and when you reach a certain age you wonder if you heard the story right as a kid or not. For example, my dad had told me once or twice about a brothers-in-law that was killed in a boxing match. As a kid it was a curious story that I didn't give much thought to. Years later, when doing genealogy on my dad's side I found out that yes, it was actually true. The whole story was more tragic that what my dad told me. His sister, my aunt was very young, maybe 18 or 19 and had only been married to the boxer for 3 weeks when he was killed by a blunt trauma to his head. So, seeing a gravestone makes the person real, for a fact. You can just imagine all your other relatives gathered around, grieved, at a memorial service for this person. It was very nice of you Robert to show this act of kindness to someone you don't even know. Much respect to you!

How can I get a letter or something to Robert ? We have two big cemeteries that I have family buried in but there is AT LEAST three other cemeteries that are connected to the two that I have family laid to rest in . I was told one was a slave or maybe just a African American cemetery . I feel like they deserve to be put on FIND A GRAVE and I am willing to help document the graves .Just don't know what to do!

@AdventuresIntoHistory Although my ancestors aren't from your area.. However in the Sinai war America was involved in the Sinai war against Israel.. Perhaps you could find military grave's from this time. Aka we (Gen Xs were born by then), it's the French army whom have fought with Israel. My question is to y'all Can y'all find anything related to this war among the dead? p. s I have asked you about this and i personally have no idea to whom were those whom have fought in this army. Again I have no clue about were my ancestors are resting. And it's not in Israel!!!! 17:50
