I have it and love it my first year. I did not know how big it would get after a season! Next year I will divide and put them in other areas.

Do you use the cut offs of lamium to propagate more plants? Im taking 5 cm cuttings and letting them root in water and then potting them ready for spring. Its amazing how much of my garden comes from seeds and cuttings. The only new perenials are a viburnum lace shrub and a sticky "mop head" wattle. I buy the very special shrubs and then underplant with cuttings of heucheras, blue praxia, cyclamens etc. We are still in winter, so ive collected 50 cyclamen pups to propagate...cross fingers that they grow into full mature plants to put under my lepetosperman. Love gardening and nature.😊 and so do you.

I really should be! That is a great idea for another video, showing how to prop them like that! Thanks for the inspiration :)

Excellent. Exactly my question, should I cut them back. I had an amazing flush of flowers this spring but just recently noted them past their peek bloom. And noted the plant was being a bit thuggish in my perennial bed. So I rips it back with the John Lord style of gardening, leaving the root clump. This morning I was questioning whether I just destroyed them, but you clearly answered my question. They will flush out in blooms again, and I’ve prevented them for taking over the emerging phlox and cleome. They are in full sun area and seem to love it.

Thanks for this video, as usual good information. I planted some in my window box’s and in the ground this year and was not sure it would come back. Should I replant the ones in the window boxes into the ground for them to survive? I am in zone 7b in Georgia.

I think you will be fine leaving them in the window box. Maybe give them some mulch and don’t forget to water once in awhile

Carolyn Palmer This is off topic but do u have a drench u could recommend for houseplants before they are brought back inside for the winter? Someone said just change the soil but I have over 100 plants to bring back in. I just want to get rid of any creepy crawlers lol.

When you say below freezing, does that mean snow or frost? 8n my area we don't have snow at all only frost. Thanks a lot.

I already have a well established lamium ground cover However, there are multiple weeds a plants coming up through the lamium that I want to kill off. Is there a herbicide that can be used that won’t kill the lamium? So of the other plants are wild grape and are growing on top of the lamium.
@plantvibrations3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately lamium and wild grape are both dicots so you can’t spray the wild grape without killing the lamium too

Devin i realize this vid is a yr old but ,had a question, dose the Lamium Maculatum smell like dirt or a very earthy smell if rubbed between your fingers? Thanks you 🇺🇸.

Great video! This plant is real winner in my garden and thrives under my pinky winky hydrangeas in NH. It blooms all summer long and is usually the first to come up in spring and the last to go in fall.

Ooooh paired with pinky winky, nice combo!

Beacons silver is a specific cultivar of a Lamium!
