I'm also one with a Zazzbizzle coming soon! Was able to snag a coupon on AliExpress and bought it for around $49. Insane price but really on the limit for me, as Brazilian import taxes above $50 are bonkers lately. Jelos passed away in between filming and release. It's Rocknix now. I can't test until at least Tuesday when my R36S gets here. I have Jelos on my Orange Pi 5 but there won't be Rocknix for that. Just handhelds.

I put Rocknix on this and am having all of the charging issues I keep hearing about. I'm not sure if it's even charging and the battery is not accurate is there any solution?

Yup. Open it up, and unplug the battery for 10 seconds. Then plug it in, put it back together, and power on. Should be correct.

It seems to be an X55-ish with the controls moved about. It's sitting on that mid performance bump where joysticks come in, but d-pads are still important. With having an RGB30 and an X55, this really doesn't add much for me, but it'll be great for some.

@@davidquaye It's a good handheld for older platform, but it struggles with PSP, which you'd think it designed for, given the layout. You're best bet is to watch the reviews on it, they'll go over things better than I. Jelos has stopped development I believe. Rocknix is the new one for the X55. I don't know of any others.

Recessed joycon style thumbsticks are great for arcade fighting games due to it's short range of motion to be honest. I feel much more comfortable and confident to use them for doing special moves, that may be because I never had a handheld in my childhood but I spend a big chunk of it playing 2D fighting games on arcade cabinets. I wish that more people would try them for fighting games. I think they are way more superior to play with it instead of d-pad. Especially you are playing Street Fighter and KOF in general. It is an unpopular opinion but I know I can't be the only one here thinking so.

The Poobiedoop is absolutely amazing for my needs, been having such a blast playing through Pokemon Fire Red/Emerald! Also super surprised with how well some PSP games can run on it! Overall super awesome if you can get past its name. 😝

I love the V90 too, and I also wish they would do a V100 or something like that, with a bit more juice so we get reasonable PS1 performance. It can still run some PS1 games well enough, like Legacy of Kain, but it would be great to have the whole PS1 library running smoothly. Maybe... Saturn too? A man can dream.

Its actually pretty smart that they made fullscreen the default. The fanatics, that dont want this, know where to change it. The new people that would get this device will probably get it for the screen. When the then would be confronted with black borders, they probably would be disappointed and it could turn them off retro gaming or at least the device.

I used to mostly rely on retro game corps for buy or not decisions. I’ll be honest, this channel has replaced that for me. I dig the humor and approach (though still need Retro for his setup vids). Hey TD, I bought one of these and when trying to clone the 128gb sd card, it tells me it's full, even though I removed some files and can see when I look at the properties that it's not full. The inverted volume buttons on the Powkiddy devices irked me so much. When I had my RGB30 open I did some snipping and placed them in the proper order. Fortunately ArkOS has an option to flip the volume button functionalities, so all is right with the world again lol

powkiddy to me seems to be underrated these days considering how people seem to avoid them. I love retroid and anbernic, but sometimes their prices are a TAD too steep for the value of the handhelds. even though powkiddy tends to have a harder time with specs, they are really good for what they offer... especially at their prices.

I have to say it's become my favorite (cheapish) horizontal handheld, POW-KITTY!!! you've done it again. However, the Bluetooth support on mine doesn't seem to be functional. It says that it's scanning for devices, but to always reports back with nothing found. I don't now what's up with it.

Bummer about your Bluetooth. Mine seems to be working fine (just tried it with the 8bitdo zero2 controller). I assume you've tried different controllers to no avail? I suppose there's a chance that a fresh OS flash would help. Maybe try the new Rocknix firmware if you're desperate?

@@TechDweeb I think it's MagicX's proprietary standalone emulator. Every other game tests normally but Conker's Bad Fur Day is playable with MagicX's proprietary standalone emulator. I hope you didn't completely wipe your stock firmware card.

@@TechDweeb yeah... I bought the x28 since at the time, was the T618 with best ergonomics, but... These false diagonals piss me off hard... And... There it wasn't prettry fixable 😅 It is a pain in the ass to remove the l2 trigger which hide the d-pad without breaking anything, so... I just didn't 😅 And yeah... Since it happens with almost every device of them, it also should be a priority to resolve 😅

He explains it with so much genuine enthusiasm and less of the tech terms, benchmarks and as much as I love other KZbinr's work, Tech Dweeb hits the spot when it comes to finding the nostalgic feeling of fangirling over these tiny devices and brings excitement to the hobby which others find tiresome to do because they're "adults" already.
