Owls are truly badass creatures. People always talk about eagles and hawks when thinking about alpha birds of prey and I always go immediately to owls. Got to see a barn owl up close a lot when I was kid because he lived in a building we had on the property. I'd stay out there some nights during the summer to watch him leave on his hunts and even saw him bring a mouse back to his nest for dinner a couple times. Truly amazing animals.

I think it's the lack of outward emotion that dulls people's perception of them. Eagles and falcons vary their vocalizations based on their mood, and show aggressive postures when threatened. The GHO does none of that because he doesn't need to. It fears nothing, they fear him.
@alihijazi8583 Жыл бұрын
Owls are overrated in terms of strength though The great horned owl is not in the same league as harpy, Phillipines, golden, bald, martial and Steller Sea Eagle or even its cousin the eurasian eagle owl in terms of great physical strength Even vultures have the ability to kill owls

@alihijazi8583 well everything you listed there (besides the other owl) is much, much bigger than a great horned owl. Deer stands are one of the absolute best places on earth to witness nature in its purest form. Some people say hunting is ugly and ignorant, but that’s only because of actual ignorance and stereotypes perpetuated by the mainstream train of thought and it’s media. The hunt is so much more than just a kill. In fact, it would be boring if it all boiled down to killing. Killing a living thing is a heavy experience, and just the cherry on top of the entire process. As an environmentalist, hunter, and animal-lover myself, I wish more people could or would TRY to understand this… And I can’t necessarily blame them because the heavily biased media misinforms them… 😢
