Impressive stuff! Look forward to Great Loop vids. You guys still have the best great loop video where you time lapsed almost the whole Florida portion. Epic.

Oh wow.. didn't realize anyone actually enjoyed that series. Thanks for letting us know.. it was a lot of work to put together.

@@Technomadia Excellent! Please consider making more vids like that on other portions of the loop. It's very rare content. Thanks!

Oh.. we long ago gave up on that concept. It was just too much work, and not enough benefit. We mostly just got complaints on the series. But glad you enjoyed.

Glad that wasn’t as bad as it first looked. Onto the rest of a sail in calm waters and fair weather Cheers

I had the same pump failure on the upper helm of my 4788 in late 2022. Did not try the rebuild kit but rather sent the pump out to be rebuilt. Cost a bit more but needed it done fast and right. Good to know the Amazon product works.

Hey guys, I spoke with you on the VHF yesterday when you passed by Barefoot Marina in N. Myrtle Beach. I hope the rest of your trip goes smooth as possible. Be well and best wishes.

It is always fun to get hailed on VHF by someone who recognizes us. *wave*

Look at the bright side of your steering failure, you weren't 100 miles off shore. I might get another one of those O-ring kits for spare. I know both pumps have been rebuilt at this point and will probably last for another 40 years or so but Mr. Murphy's law is alive and well. As for the actual process it looked pretty easy. I was pretty sure you guys could do it, you're both pretty smart. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

The rebuild probably isn’t something anyone would want to attempt while underway offshore. I’d hate to be chasing bearings on a bucking boat! Fortunately - we have four ways to steer the boat. Upper helm, lower helm, autopilot, and engine thrust.

I am a solo cruiser so i only drive from the pilothouse on my 4550. Its the reason i bought the boat. The wing doors make it really easy to get out and dock by myself. I have been thinking about installing a 3rd steering station in the rear cockpit to make docking even easier.

The prior owner of our boat single handled it.. impresses us that folks do that with a boat this size!

Is there cargo carrying capacities on boats like yours?

Not that we've encountered... I mean, you probably don't want to invite a herd of elephants onboard.
