The BF-109 in this video, is in fact a Spanish built example; a CASA HA-1112 Mil, powered by a Merlin upright V-12, istead of the original DB-601 inveverted V-12.

The Corsair did not enter service with the Navy in 1944, instead, it first entered service as an operational fighter in December 1942, with VF-12. 1944 was when the Corsair was finally cleared by the Navy to start serving aboard our carriers, as a resopnse to the Kamakaze menace, so please, go recheck your information on this fighter.
