Some of the greatest sax ever played on a pop record. junior wasn't supposed to sing on this, but he nails it. This is not just soul, but the undiminished and blessed truth.

Hi, JM! This song was released in 1969, the same year i was born. My late uncle introduced me to this song in the late 70s, among other songs like "Secret Love" and "Look Back and Smile", both songs by the late great Billy Stewart. I highly recommend you to try them. Cheers from Sao Paulo, Brazil!

"Shotgun" a smash hit single released back in the year 1965 by 'Junior Walker & The All Stars' is a smokin' hot funk and R & B song.🎷🔥 "Shotgun" was featured 25 years later as the opening title sequence in the psychological horror film 'Misery' from 1990 based on by the well-known author Stephen King's novel starring Kathy Bates and James Caan. 🎭💫

I saw Junior & The All Stars on their 1967 tour of the UK at the Sherwood Rooms in Nottingham and they brought the house down! Junior was quite the comedian and frequently had us in stitches during a power-packed show. Somehow he seems to be the "forgotten man" at Motown and yet he gave us so many Classic tracks - Please check out: "Road Runner", "Shotgun", "Do The Boomerang", "Pucker Up Buttercup", " How Sweet It Is" and "Shake And Fingerpop" for starters! I saw him again with an English pickup band in the early 1990s not long before his sad and early passing in 1995 at the age of only 64. BTW, his real name was Autry DeWalt Mixon Jnr and the "Walker" came from his habit of walking everywhere as a youngster.
