Great tip! I wrap mine with grocery store plastic wrap whenever I move or travel with opened bottles. I’m also a fan of smoky/peaty whiskies and found some loose their smoke flavor faster with oxidation. A wine vacuum sealer fits well on the Laphroaig bottle, so I actually pump out the air! I got nerdy with a friend and we tested a brand new Laphroaig, one normal 1/4 full bottle, and my 1/4 full bottle thats been vacuumed sealed. The brand new bottle tasted best, but the vacuum sealed made a big difference!

Air in the bottle is an issue. Once a bottle is opened ensure it is drank within one year

Air to whiskey ratio is definitely a factor. This Parafilm is like step 5 in order of effect for me... To be clear. It's just cheap and easy, so even if it helps a little, I'm good. 👍🥃

I live by why would you just open a bottle and try to hang on to it as long as possible. I don't care if it's a 1000 dollar bottle or a 50, or 20 dollar bottle ect ect if I buy it and open it I'm drinking the entire bottle before the weekend is over.
