My first set-up I ever got was a St Croix tidemaster 8ft MH with a 4500 slammer and ran 20pb superslick. It is still my go to over my odm and VS. Just easy to throw around all day and is a lot of fun to catch with. Can't wait to see the new 8ft skinner!
@jcarry52143 жыл бұрын
I built my second custom rod on that exact blank with a 4500 spinfisher v and 20lb suffix 832! It's the rod I wouldn't ever sell or give away. Wait, I guess it was an Avid, not Tidemaster but very close. I didn't like the pencil action and it really was heavier than rated but it would murder on shad jigs, spooks and danny plugs. Fishing in the rocks I never got stuck, instant response. Between 1 and 3 ounces I could outcast anything and I could shoot upwind great with that thing. sigh, I miss the coast.

I also fished an Eastern North Shore beach this past Thursday and Friday. No birds. No visible signs of fish. And not a single Bluefish but LOTS of schoolie Stripers with a few slots mixed in. We were probably not that far apart. Funny how these things work. Great vid as always, both entertaining and informative.

Winterized the 85 Sea Nymph 17' center console last week, as a senior kinda don't go out once the water gets cold. Hope your winter in Florida is a good one and look forward to your return with us guys next year. Regards.... Walt

Why spend the extra $100 dollars more for the tsunami reel with 50 lb. of drag when using 20 LB. test vs. a Penn Slammer 4500? has more line capacity and 30LB.s of drag????? Just wondering, I am thinking of buying the two rod's next summer, but as a veteran, I hope to buy things made in the USA;

I've had other BPM baits kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!
