Well done Mark - you made good progress. For the benefit of viewers, the route is designed to be ridden clockwise. Riding it anti-clockwise is less scenic, uses trickier hills and follows the wrong way on one way streets.

Very amusing tale. Is there any way of knowing in advance which parts of the trail are impassable (at least for me)? something like the colour coding they have for ski runs? Also does the route mark where shops/camping/petrol are available? Did you meet any other riders on the trail ie, if you fell off badly, would you be discovered in time for tea or would I have to wait for the next ice age?

@MarkLewisfitness2 жыл бұрын
never - I ride sensible, often solo or with my wife and for walkers/horses etc. Simply nothing for people to complain about. The people that get grief are typically going too fast and in big groups.

Mark, looking at the 701, how do you find the gearbox ratios for trail riding in the UK where speeds are slower?
@syncrosimon5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark, I am thinking this is gonna be the bike for me. Also considered the AJP PR7, but it’s just a little too niche and rare I think to be the bike for me! I am too tall for most other bikes. I am finding the XT660Z just a little too road oriented for the riding I find myself wanting to do ( TET and a TRF stuff)

Nice videos, I enjoyed watching. Are all trails are legal to ride with motorcycle? I could not find this info on TET website, perhaps you or anyone can shed some light on it?
@pijuskr28864 жыл бұрын
@@MarkLewisfitness I went to read on TET UK page and that's what it says: ".. Only ride on public byways and carriageways - whether tarred or unsurfaced. You must not ride on footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways, cycle tracks or private/open land". Some trails in your videos (also on videos who has created the uk tet route) looks like single tracks just for walking or riding a bicycle, it confuses me. I certainly want to ride tet myself, but just don't want to get into trouble.
@pijuskr28864 жыл бұрын
@@MarkLewisfitness that is music to my eyes to read that it's all legal! Thanks Mark, much appreciated, very clear and good answer.

Hey Mark, do you think there's enough stop of points to do this with an e-bike with a decent battery?
@richardkillian56572 жыл бұрын
I know you didn't ask me the question but battery powered bikes aren't well suited to journeys like this. The technology will have come a long way before they can get anywhere near the convenience of petrol for these kind of trips. I will definitely tip my hat to you if you do persevere though, best of luck.
