I have been a huge Great White fan since before things got crazy for them. This is the Great White I loved so much in this video I am sharing here. Jack and a pack of guys made a band named it great white. The guitarist Mark and drummer are still keeping a band called Great White going and Jack is going in another direction trying to keep it together another way but the singers can't do what Jack did and does. There is only one way, but Mark and Jack wont fix it. I'm going to see them tomorrow. Jack won't be there. Man, ok it will be the end of an era for me. If you liked their raw sound, and are a fan of the beginnings, check this. They kill Since I've been Loving you here. It's fantastic. I saw them in the beginnings in a bar in Cali in 1985. It went on from there for the rest of the 80s and then the fire and the changes - it all changed. Tomorrow will be different without the original (RIP)bassist and the only Great White singer Jack. They have had their tragedies for sure.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eau0hZaspNp0q9Esi=2kT6CHGo0rqPDFTF. I am so glad I got to experience what I did in those 80s - Thank you Jack, Mark thank you to a great idea and big sound - being raw and real and memor😅es I will never forget.

I remember when the Twice Shy record blew up big and Great White were a household name in the late 80's / early 90's. I formed a power trio my senior year of high school, and one of the tunes we worked up was "House Of Broken Love", which was one of the singles from that record. Then a few years later, GW puts out that live cover album of Led Zeppelin tunes, and I thought to myself, "Jack Russell is the next Robert Plant." Sounds like Robert to a tee! I always loved the prominent bluesy influence in their music. Mark Kendall was one of the most underrated guitarists of his era. Even when grunge, and later nu metal, was reigning huge in the 90's, I still listened to my 80's bands, and Great White was in regular rotation. I never turned my back on the music that got me through some really not-so-bitching times in my life.

Of all the 1980s hard rock bands, Great White was my favorite from the moment I saw Jack's picture in a BAM magazine, because he wasn't wearing makeup, his hair wasn't in a poodle-do. He was wearing a denim jacket, the sleeves cut off, with a belt buckle that said "Jack" on it. I liked his voice when I heard "Out of the Night" for the first time, but I was really sold on "Rock Me" and "Once Bitten..." I was glad they got as big as they did for a while in the summer/fall of 1989., but it's really when people's tastes changed. I really believe that if it weren't "Grunge," it would have been something else that would have turned the mainstream public's attention. Things change. I wish Jack Russell had been able to stay with Great White. This IS the first time I'd heard his version of how he left that band, that HE had the power to "fire" everybody else. I am so glad to see this and the Part I interview. I appreciate his candor and his humility. And he sounds great and sober in these interviews. I might have to go see his band the next time I'm able.

one of my fav bands! like many of the greatest rock bands great white had their own unique sound consisting mainly of Jack's one of a kind vocel sound and certainly that of Kendall's guitar sound and tone, no individual was greater than the whole of the russell-kendall-lardie-desbrow-montana lineup and without that main line-up the magic will never be the same!! take especially either Jack or Mark out the equation and it's NOT Great White and never truly will be without them BOTH being together with that same line-up... All of the albums were solid albums with little filler tracks and that's damn hard to do, and lots of props have to go to Niven for his guidence and co-writing with those guys. i would love to see them get back together but it will more than likely never happen at this point. but when they were together the magic was there and undeniable and you could hear it and feel it and that's what made Great White and the Great White sound-PERIOD!!!

Their album “He saw it coming”, is some of Jacks best work, every song on the album is fantastic!!! They also did an acoustical album of “Once Bitten”, and it is better than the original, ending with a Led Zeppelin song that shows why no one does Zepplin better than Jack Russell.
