I have both of the 15 piece sets and I love everything about them.

Four years later and with only 35 comments I wonder why I type this... I have watched nearly every video and none really show you the teeth after serious use. This video (accidently I think) let show the damage that occurs with serious usage. At 3:58 the bolt head is chewed up. This wrench will get any bolt out or break it, either way you're left needing a new bolt. At 4:40 you can see the bottom teeth are damaged from the steel protruding outward. Also, several top teeth are visibly flattened. No fucking good at all! This video SAVED me from going to Rural King tomorrow and finally buying these. I just about messed up.

I literally just bought this set when I found the metric 15 pc for 80$ on eBay. I’m an industrial maintenance tech, and I use the Icon ratcheting wrench set at work- I wanted something shorter for low access areas, but not stubby short. Now I think I’ll use them to replace my hodgepodge of wrenches at home for the occasional use I have there that my SK x frame set doesn’t cover.

The problem with that wrench design, and Snap-On's design is they mar up the fasteners. You can see it in your demo on the cheaper bolt. So for someone like me working on high end cars, I CANNOT have that. Many Harley dealerships forbid the use of Snap-On wrenches for these reason. Personally I adore the Matco Tools wrenches. The Opti-Torque design works well and I truly feel they grip well, with no marring.

You are exactly right. If you're working on polished fasteners (or fasteners that need to be visually appealing), you can't use the open-end of a wrench like this, as it Will put marks on the flats of the fastener. Of course, you do have the box-end that will work as well, as long as there is room for it.

These wrenches would be perfect if they made them just a touch longer

Yes, they need longer version of their wrenches as well. Thanks for watching.

I don't know how you can say Milwaukee tools are less expensive than other tools unless you're talkin about the top brands like Snap-on, Mac, Proto, SK and other tools in that class. Cornwell. I love Milwaukee tools: I'm definitely a fan boy. But there are other good alternatives like Tekton that are equal or better in quality for much less money. Unless you were professionalthere's no need to buy the top tier tools like snap-on: however, it is nice to treat yourself to a few snap-on tools like some quality ratchets and maybe things like a ball peen hammer, some of their sockets. I think everybody should have a few snap-on's in their toolbox if they can't afford to get all snap on. I myself had tools for a lifetime so I have everything, SK, SNAP-ON, MAC, OLD GOOD QUALITY, CRAFTSMAN, TRW, Carlyle, Blue Point and yes Milwaukee, just to name a few.

Vince, that's exactly what I'm intending is the comparison to the professional tool and tool-truck brands.

Tekton is not as good as these Milwaukee.

Is Milwaukee going to make bigger wrenches??? Like 1-1/16 to 1-1/4

How have these held up thus far? Also in the second test it looks as if there was a bit of play to here it seemed pretty loose, was it just after it started to slip or does it seem a bit off?
@Shoptoolreviews5 жыл бұрын
They've held up very well. I haven't noticed any abnormal tolerance or looseness.

I think this is the most interesant comment ... i am pretty concerned about the teeth wear on this awsome looking Milwaukee wrenches.... that glossy/chrom coating is also over the teeth and is going to wear sooner or later ... does anybody try them more than half hour of use, that could tell us how it holds on long terms of use???

Is this guy even a mechanic??? It's called a box end... not a closed end... It boggles my mind how some people get the jobs they have
@Shoptoolreviews6 жыл бұрын
@88z51Vette Really?! You're questioning the validity of my expertise and tool knowledge, based on the fact that I called it a closed-end wrench, instead of box-end? Am I mechanic by trade? No, and I've never made that assumption. However, my pedigree and car and tool knowledge stands on its own. At least have some objectivity to your accusation. I use the term interchangeably, as many others do...professional and weekend-gearheads. Do a google search for closed end wrench. If you have a concern with any of the statements that I make, then I'm happy to address. I truly do appreciate you watching the video, and I hope that we can find a mutual ground.
