I don't find it respectful for people who knew what's happening behind the curtain to call it "still being this funny" and "it runs through his veins". The guy was battling dark thoughts. Imagine how'd he feels. "Hey man, sorry to hear about what you went through during this event. But wow. You're still funny despite all of that! Awesome!" Commedians are prone to depressions. Well, some types of commedians. Those are basically philosophists who are trying to change people's opinions and statement about things they find intolerable through humor. I'd say this is good tv because he handled everything with a lot of wit and spontaneity for someone with no experience who's descended into such a state of Delirium due to lack of rest and preparation to the point of embarrassment. Well done!!👏👏

James has a hilarious stand up bit on this experience. Apparently, he was horribly jet lagged and hadn’t slept for 36 hours. He mentioned this fact on camera multiple times, but they edited it out, making him look like a chaotic mess. Still, I imagine that he earned some new fans … since his comments that did make it are comedic gold. It’s on KZbin, so I definitely recommend giving it a watch!

Lots of people have mentioned his version of this in his show but the 1 bit I really remember, that I think says a lot for mental state at the time, is that he actually couldn't remember saying the famous "started making it, had a breakdown, bon appetit." He saw gifs of it appear and go viral later and got confused and had no memory.

I imagine it has something to do with being a charity/fundraiser episode. In what regard, I don’t know, but that seems to be the only identifiable difference between this and the episodes on Netflix.

@@justinotherday6199 This was for a televised fundraiser called Stand Up To Cancer, we do this in the UK every year. The normal Great British Bake Off is year round.

I know, me too! I don't care if I know all of the celebs, I know some of them and I have the internet if I want to know the rest 😋 lol. I just love this show so much!

Joe S I think you’re thinking too much into it 🤣 RuPauls Drag Race UK finally aired in the USA and I didn’t understand everything because you guys use all sorts of different words than we do and the snatch game is when the queens impersonate celebrities. They did this on the UK show also. I knew some of them but they didn’t say “oh we aren’t going to air this in the USA or other countries because they might not understand the celebrities impersonated or their use of slang.” That would just be ridiculous. Like Greenquartz said, if we are confused or need more info on someone or why they chose a certain bake, there’s a little thing called google. It’s not a problem with regular contestants so why does it matter if they are celebrities?
