My bro had a metal Great Unclean One in the 90s, he also had the original Beast of Nurgle (basically a giant slug), Nurglings, and Plaguebearer Daemons. Great days of painting lead based models and licking the brush!

Nurgle was my introduction to the setting, hearing about him and the twisted way that he cares for his demons was very intriguing to me. 1 and a half years later of lore and I'm just consumed by the setting, even building an army of blood angels minis. Great Unclean Ones are perhaps a small mirror of their patron god very appearance considering how many of his daemons do look alike, but perhaps it is also a reminder that the Grandfather is a very egotistical creature as all of his daemons come from his love for decay and death, and while the other Chaos Gods do have egos that cannot be matched by any creatures of the physical materials it may be Nurgle who doesn’t has an equal in ego considering he needs his followers love for him and him alone.

@@Baldermort Bah! These new sorcerers don't know how good they have it! Back when I was learning we didn't have shelves of grimoires all over the shop! No! We had to transcribe our spells by hand! As the daemons were giving them to us! And Warp help you if you got a particularly chatty one. Better have a couple gallons of preserved blood and oak gall ink on hand, and don't mix it too soon, otherwise it gets dried out and useless and then you're really in a bind! I got stuck in a conversation with a sloppily bilepiper for seven hours once. Just to get a mold-fertilizing cantrip! And don't even get me started on the summoning circles built right into the floors of their ships. We didn't have the LUXURY of precut tiles and consecrated wire inlay. No, we had to draw them out by hand, every single time! Now these entitled little sprouts whine if they have to do so much as make a few sacrifices to prime the ritual pump! Warp sorcery is in a sorry state these days and that's a fact! 🤣

I loved that intro. "Horus was weak." Many say that, yet how many of the current Traitor marines truly believe it? How many are simply saying that to declare themselves correct in retrospect? Aye, this Word Bearer does seem to truly believe it, but one wonders hoe many say it as a coping mechanism. How many would say that Horus was weak so that their faith placed in him would not be for nothing after his death. Just those three simple words ignite these thoughts in my head, with your timbre narrating the ideas. Well done indeed.

You have been my favorite lore guy for years now. It kinda blew me away when I found out that except for the times you're obviously quoting everything else is written by yourself. I still think Thadious and Tarqainus is the best story in 40K right now. I'm completely torn about it right now. I'm impressed at how you managed to create a climax equal to the great writing so far. And I can't wait to find out what is going to happen. But that will mean the end to something that Ihat has been my favorite Warhammer thing for years now, and I watch a lot of 40k stuff for a long time now.
