For Cornwall I would have said Nigel Martyn. First goalkeeper to be sold over the £1m mark and reached the semifinals of the Champions League with Leeds United in 2001. Mike Trebilcock is another worthy choice. Sold to Everton from Plymouth Argyle in 1965 he scored the brace that won Everton the FA Cup in 1966 in a 3-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday.

Could you do a similar video for the best counties in Wales and Scotland, either current or all time
@teebee36715 жыл бұрын
Great work as usual HITC sevens but Ben Hamer should've easily been overlooked for Somerset in place of highly successful Manchester City fullback Tony Book... You're excluding Bath from Somerset but Bath isn't eligible for any other county's, I know you're trying to be accurate as possible but it's a massive oversight and I'll explain why, and also why Book should've represented Somerset too in this video Tony Book was the FWA player of the year in 1969 (joint with Dave Mackay) and he was Manchester City captain as they won 4 trophies in the late 60s/early 70s, the English top flight, the FA Cup, League Cup and the ECWC (European Cup Winners Cup)... Plus he was club captain when they won a charity/community shield... that's without the fact he was a well liked player seen as a model pro and a former non-league player who rose to the top, he never even played a game of top flight football before 31 and was nearly 32 when he did, everything he achieved at City at the age he did was quite the phenomenal accomplishment for somebody nobody had heard of a few years earlier. If you ask me that's an extremely solid C.V. to be Somerset's representative. . You might counter that with well Bath wasn't part of Somerset when Book was born anyway but Bath as a place isn't eligible in your video in any county it's in limbo... I'm sure if Bobby Charlton or Stanley Matthews were born in Bath you'd have picked one of them representing Somerset ahead of Hamer... plus you Tommy Lawton for Greater Manchester when infact he was born in Lancashire... Greater Manchester wasn't even a place that existed until 1974, and quite frankly it's daft to not include someone in a county when his place of birth was classified differenly, in future vids I'm suggesting you take it easy on yourself in a similar scenario, for such players as Lawton or Book should be eligible for both county's, just pick the best candidate you see fit... so if you see a player whose place of birth overlaps 2 county's/regions/country during his lifespan pick him for which place you like... But give a nice big honourable mention to someone losing to a dual eligible player if that makes sense? Keep up the good work you can't be that choosy with regions county's or other similar things or you'll always be prone to make mistakes. Which is why Tony Book should be Somerset's representative here instead of Hamer, especially seeing as Lawton is Greater Manchester's representative and poor bath is in limbo... haha. Both should be seen as completely fair and acceptable choices I reckon if you choose to pick them both obviously.

Whereas Scott Carson was born in Whitehaven in 1985 which means he was actually born in the county of Cumbria (which was formed in 1974 by combining the counties of Cumberland and Westmorland with the area of Furness which was known as Lancashire across the sands, and also part of the West Riding of Yorkshire to form Cumbria) . Just a bit of county history for you there lads.
